Moxy Seoul, Myeongdong

The room was a bit larger than I expected, located on the 8th floor. The cleanliness was a little subpar, as I found several strands of hair on the bed. Other than that, everything was great. The location is very convenient, with a McDonald's, toast shop, and other breakfast places nearby. Uniqlo is even in the same building. Taxis are easy to catch, and our embassy is just across the street. There are many currency exchange places in the vicinity. Lotte Department Store and Shilla Duty-Free Shop are also within easy walking distance.

Great location, right in Myeongdong! Taxis can drop you off directly at the hotel entrance by setting the destination to the hotel lobby. This hotel shares a building with Le Meridien, and both check-in desks are on the 4th floor. I initially went to the wrong one, but luckily someone pointed me in the right direction! The room was very clean, and housekeeping tidied it daily.

I chose this room type because it had two 1.5-meter beds. The room itself was indeed quite small, only allowing enough space to open one 26-inch suitcase. Luckily, there was a wall with hooks, which was very convenient for hanging many items. The hotel is located in the bustling Myeongdong area, but my room on the sixth floor was surprisingly quiet. Popular restaurants and shopping spots are all within a few minutes' walk, and there's a CU convenience store right outside the hotel. The front desk staff were quite friendly, but unfortunately, no Chinese service was available. There are many bus stops near the hotel, and with metro lines 2 and 4 close by, getting anywhere is very convenient. My only minor complaint is that the room's mini-fridge was very small and made a loud noise when cooling.

The hotel's location right on Myeongdong Walking Street is super convenient for shopping, and there are so many great places to eat nearby. The check-in area is actually inside the restaurant, and they offer a welcome drink. There's complimentary coffee and tea available 24/7, and you can use the restaurant area freely. As a business traveler, I spent a lot of time working, often in the restaurant, and it was really nice to grab a coffee occasionally. The only downside for business guests is the seating and desk in the room. It has a 'camping-style' feel, which isn't comfortable for working, and the desk space is too small. I guess that's part of the hotel's unique charm, though. There's a 24-hour CU convenience store on the hotel's ground floor. Overall, everything was great.

The Moxy, part of Marriott, was pretty good. What really stood out was its excellent location, being very close to Lotte and Shinsegae Duty-Free shops, as well as several restaurants nearby. It's perfect for popping back to rest in between shopping sprees. Plus, there's a laundry area, and the cleaning was good. The only downside was the breakfast; it was really mediocre and not tasty at all.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The room was a bit small, but it was manageable as things could be hung on the wall. The location is excellent, right in Myeongdong, and directly opposite the embassy, which made us feel safe and secure.

An excellent stay! Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted by the familiar Marriott hotel scent. During my stay, I was able to redeem two complimentary welcome drinks. The room was cleaned daily. On the 4th floor, there's a 24-hour free coffee and latte machine, and on the 5th floor, complimentary laundry and drying facilities are available, which is a fantastic service for travelers. The hotel is only a 1-3 minute walk from the currency exchange and the Myeongdong shopping area. The king-size room is a bit small, and two large suitcases barely fit open.
