Chateau des Arpentis

What a gem I discovered when booking at Chateau des Arpentis and all went from good to great the moment we checked in. The owner of the Chateau went extra mile to always make sure we were enjoying our stay at the most. We stayed 2 nights and stayed most of the time at the property enjoying the facilities. Breakfast is continental but the quality is top and also plentiful to start the day. I highly recommend to stay at Chateau des Arpentis if you travel to Loire Valley visiting castles.

The pictures are great but the property is dated and is not well maintained. We had 1 evening with no hot water, the wifi and TVs did not work in our room for the entire stay. Manager was made aware of the issues but was unable to fix and was unapologetic about it. Don't count on playing ping pong or foosball either as the equipment is in disrepair and unplayable. Very disappointed in the facility and service. The location is pretty good.

The location is very nice and definitely a strong point of this place. However, it should be clearly understood that this is not a hotel, but rather a bed and breakfast—nothing more. Only breakfast is served; there are no snacks, no drinks available, no restorstion, no bar, and no room service. We also asked the reception to help us make a restaurant reservation, but were told that we had to handle it ourselves. Quite honestly, for the price you pay, this is disappointing. The location has the potential for more but apparently it is not needed.

Facilities were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in November so it was low season and there was nobody else around to be seen. Bedspread had a large rip. Bed was, however, comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent.

This was a beautiful building, and each room had its own character. In addition to the rooms, they provided a washer and dryer, along with a small kitchen area when you could prepare meals and eat. The pool was heated. The manager was friendly.

We only stayed one night; wished we could have stayed a week! This is like a castle; beautifully appointed and the grounds are gorgeous. A truly unique experience. Also the beds were comfortable and the shower worked fine; and our host was perfectly cordial.
