After a long and tiring journey involving flights and buses, opening the room door made it all worthwhile. The hotel room was incredibly spacious, with stunning views of lush greenery and the beautiful coastline behind. The room layout and furniture reflected an older resort style – traditional, Thai, and somewhat heavy, but the overall resort environment was gorgeous. The two common pools weren't large; one was right on the cliff edge, perfect for photos, and the gym was surprisingly well-equipped.
A short walk down the hotel's pathway leads to Small Kata Beach, where the water is clear, the sand fine, and the waves calm. The commercial street behind it has a 7-Eleven, Thai restaurants, and massage parlors. On the other side, towards Kata and Karon, there's a steep hill. Going down it provides access to a comprehensive selection of eateries and convenience stores. Walking to the main Kata Beach felt like about a kilometer. It's okay for watching the sunset and enjoying the night market, but it's crowded and noisy, unlike the tranquility around the hotel.
All the staff we encountered were excellent. When my friend injured her knee at the beach, we went to the front desk, and they immediately provided a first-aid kit and helped with disinfection. The breakfast selection was average but compensated for by the unbeatable sea views. We stayed here for three days, and each day felt fulfilling. I'd definitely want to visit again.
