This might be the best stay of my life. It’s truly 5-star from the moment you walk in the door. At check-in they took our bags and delivered it to the room while we were chatting with reception. They gave us a tour of facilities and carefully explained all the important details, even the light switches in the room. I mentioned we got engaged on this holiday and they delivered an extra snacks and a bottle of port for free. There was two pastel de nata waiting for us on arrival! The room… absolutely stunning, spacious, clean. L’Occitane hair and body washes smelled so nice! The shower is HUGE. One small thing, as it’s a very historic/old building, when we flushed the toilet, we could hear the bubbling in the shower and sometimes there would be a slight smell, but it’s an old city and I can accept it. Housekeeping was impeccable, new bottle of complimentary water everyday. There is indoor and outdoor pools, we used the indoor one. The steam room and sauna were so relaxing and wonderful. On the last night we had dinner hotel restaurant which was lovely too. I had the most amazing time here. It’s also central to all the sights, a short walk to Sao Bento station, Tower of Clerigos and down to the riverside. This hotel is really perfect.
