InterContinental DANANG SUN PENINSULA RESORT by IHG

This was my third stay at the InterContinental Danang, and it was still a great experience overall. The hotel's environment and atmosphere consistently feel very relaxing, and the views between the mountains and the sea are stunning. This time, I was even lucky enough to spot the Vietnamese national treasure – the red-shanked douc langur. The staff, as always, were warm and polite, leaving a wonderful impression with their service. However, upon entering the room on the first day, I noticed a rather strange odor. It was a bit like body odor mixed with an air freshener scent, and it persisted. Since we were only staying for two nights and it was also Vietnam's National Day holiday, with a high volume of guests, we didn't request a room change at the time. On the second day, the housekeeping manager proactively called and asked about our stay in Chinese. After we reported the issue, the hotel took it very seriously. They quickly arranged for staff to change the bedding, brought us fruit and a more pleasant-smelling air freshener, and left an apology letter. Although the room's scent never completely disappeared, the hotel's speed and attitude in handling the problem were excellent, and we could feel their重视 of guest feedback, which is commendable. On another note, I still felt the breakfast was a slight disappointment. The overall quality wasn't really an issue, but considering the hotel's positioning and price point, the variety and selection of breakfast options seemed to have room for improvement. Personally, I felt it wasn't even as extensive as the breakfast at VOCO Danang. If they could enhance the breakfast categories, variety, and some unique selections, I believe the overall stay experience would be even more complete.

A beautiful hotel built into the hillside. Woke up every morning to the sound of the ocean breeze, and saw various monkeys 🐒 in the mountains. The breakfast was plentiful, with a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes. Perched between the mountains and the sea, it was a truly stunning experience.

Pros: 1. The hotel's natural environment is excellent, offering sightings of incredibly rare protected animals. They also provide a free wildlife tour, which I highly recommend. It's a fantastic experience to simply walk around the hotel and spot monkeys foraging. 2. The service is outstanding. The hotel staff are attentive and very considerate of guests. The welcome drink was delicious. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and I received a room upgrade with a great view and a spacious layout. 3. The slippers were very comfortable. The breakfast tableware was exquisite. Cons for me: 1. The claim of being the 'most beautiful Intercontinental' is an exaggeration. Some areas even felt [as pictured], though I suppose one could call it 'unique.' Personally, I found it gaudy. 2. I strongly recommend including executive lounge access. If you arrive early, since there's no air conditioning in the public areas, the only cool indoor space to relax is the executive lounge. Otherwise, you're stuck waiting in the hotel lobby, and elderly guests and children need to be careful to avoid heatstroke. 3. The breakfast was delicious, and the fruit quality was high. However, it's baffling why the other restaurants were so bad. After reading reviews that even the Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant wasn't great, I booked a package that included dinner. I paid extra to change the dishes, but they were still terrible. It was arguably the worst meal I had in Vietnam. 4. Although the hotel was uncrowded and had a good environment, the beach quality was very average, and the loungers by the sea started closing down every day at 6 PM. In summary, I think this Intercontinental is worth staying at, but don't go in with exceptionally high expectations.

The scenery is beautiful and the design is very stylish. Most of the staff are attentive and kind. The toilet in the room had a slight odor, a sewage smell. The service from the tall female waitress in the yellow uniform at the front desk during breakfast was just okay. The children's swimming pool is quite small and the water quality is mediocre.
