We recently stayed at Hotel Boutique Mas Passamaner for two nights and left feeling that the hotel falls well short of the 5-star standard it advertises. Our room was the “Premium Suite.” It was spacious and attractive at first glance, but beyond its size, there was very little that justified the premium price. The furnishings were dated, mismatched, and showed clear signs of wear, giving the suite a neglected feel rather than a luxurious one. It seemed that very little attention had been paid to maintenance or the finer details that make a stay feel truly special. Another disappointing aspect was the housekeeping. We were out of the hotel for more than five hours, yet when we returned, our room had not been serviced and was exactly as we had left it. We had to contact reception and ask for the room to be cleaned. To their credit, the staff apologized sincerely and compensated us with a bottle of cava, which we appreciated. However, this is not something I would expect to happen at a hotel that markets itself as a 5-star property. The hotel itself is set in a beautiful historic building with lovely surroundings, which is undoubtedly its strongest asset. However, the quality of the accommodation and the level of service did not reflect the rates being charged. If you’re considering staying here, I wouldn’t recommend paying extra for one of the higher room categories. Based on our experience, it’s difficult to see what additional value the premium rooms offer over the standard ones. Overall, while the setting is charming, the rooms, housekeeping, and overall attention to detail need significant improvement before this hotel can genuinely be considered a 5-star property.
