Our stay at Palazzo Roma was simply wonderful. A perfect blend of heritage charm and modern comfort. The hotel is beautifully renovated and immaculately maintained, preserving its classic Italian elegance while offering a refreshed and refined ambiance. Every corner, from the art-filled hallways to the grand dining rooms with frescoed ceilings, felt like stepping into a piece of Roman history. Breakfast was an absolute highlight — beautifully presented, with fresh pastries, breads, and a delightful selection that made every morning feel special. The service throughout our stay was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, making us feel both welcomed and cared for. Our room was spacious, elegant, and perfectly comfortable — a true retreat after exploring the city. Palazzo Roma exceeded expectations in every way, and we will definitely return on our next visit to Rome.

Extremely poor stay experience, severely disproportionate to the price. Firstly, we are a family that travels frequently, and we usually choose a unique, off-the-beaten-path hotel or designer hotel for the last day or two in each new place. We are also Marriott Platinum Lifetime members, so we have a basic ability to judge hotel quality based on our experience. Here is my review of this hotel, summed up in one keyword: utterly disappointing! 1: Cheap-feeling decor, and the air conditioning in the public areas was barely turned up. This hotel is located in an old building in the center of Rome. We heard absolutely nothing about the historical information mentioned in the reviews. When we tried to inquire about the history, all we got was, "This property went from one important family to another..." The hotel's atmosphere was completely different from the "museum-like hotel" described in reviews. The public areas were a collection of Roman elements, with various cheap paintings and sculptures. It was clearly converted from an old apartment building; there was no real hotel lobby. The so-called music room in the public area was filled with cheap instruments; even the cello's bridge was crooked. Someone in the reviews commented that "guests were playing music in the music room"? Since someone in my family studies music, I just laughed when I saw the instruments on the wall. Actually, we passed by this hotel on our first day in Rome. I went into the lobby, looked around, and the lightning protection radar went off loudly. I called to try and cancel, but was refused (because I respect the hotel's policy). Sure enough, what followed was the most disturbing accommodation experience I've ever had. 2: Compared to nearly 10 The service and facilities were completely mismatched with the €1000 price tag. For nearly €1000 a room, there was no gym, no swimming pool, and not even a bathtub in the room. The toiletries were from an unknown brand owned by the hotel itself. The fruit provided upon check-in was rotten. The refrigerator was full of cheap biscuits, juice, and soda, but it wasn't even turned on when we checked in, and we later discovered it wasn't even plugged in; all the drinks were at room temperature. 3: Aggressive Upsell Tactics When booking through Ctrip, I declared two adults, but not a child. In our past travel experience, paying for an extra bed for a child is never a problem. We've paid over 1000 RMB for an extra bed for a child at a Japanese onsen ryokan (hot spring resort) because they wanted to enjoy the hotel dinner and use the onsen. At the Hilton in Rome, we paid for an extra bed for one person's city card. Taxes are common, especially since the hotel's information (**********, *******, Michelin Guide) clearly states "extra bed for children is €160". However, on the day of check-in, the hotel's GM, Oliver, demanded an additional €500 for a "room upgrade." This fee was never mentioned in advance during booking or in the confirmation email. If we refused to pay, the pre-paid €675 would be non-refundable. The hotel management was very adamant, offering no room for negotiation. Later, Ctrip intervened and reduced the fee to €300. The hotel bill marked this fee as "Upsell," meaning that the cost of an upgrade service or product is voluntary, but in reality, we had no choice at the time. If we didn't pay the €300 (which was reduced from €500 through the platform's efforts),... The hotel's advertised price for an extra bed for children on other platforms was €160 per night. The final decision rested with the hotel; the hotel manager stated that an extra bed couldn't be added that day, and that was that. In summary, this was completely unacceptable for a €1000 hotel. Throughout the entire process, the hotel management was extremely inflexible, even when I raised the room issue, they remained defiant. Our overall travel and accommodation experiences in Italy were excellent, and I wouldn't attribute this experience to any difference in hotel service between Europe and Asia; it was purely due to the hotel and its manager's personal style. I felt compelled to share my honest experience to warn other travelers to avoid this situation.

The hotel itself is like a museum, very old-money style. The location is central, although not close to the metro, but most attractions are within a 20-minute walk, perfect for city walks. The hotel is very generous with the minibar, which is complimentary. The smart facilities are average, perhaps to maintain the old-money feel? The rooms are very large! This is rare in Rome!

I especially loved this hotel. The service was excellent, and the location was incredibly central – a three-minute walk to the fountain and a seven or eight-minute walk to the shopping center. Before bed, they even laid out my slippers, poured water, and closed the curtains. It's the best five-star hotel I've ever stayed in. I will definitely come back.

The room was beautiful and the service was excellent. It's located in the historic city of Rome, an hour's drive from the airport, and very close to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, about a 5-minute walk away. The hotel is five-star, with a wide variety of breakfast options, and the neighborhood is very safe. It's great value for money.

Superb! I rarely leave reviews, but even though I was traveling alone and don't speak English, the staff were incredibly helpful. I especially loved the lady who used a translation app to explain the history and series of rooms floor by floor, without getting impatient. My clothes and cosmetics were a mess in the room, but they were all neatly arranged when I came back from my trip. I had booked a more expensive place before, but they didn't provide this level of service. I'll definitely book here again next time.
