Marriott Mena House, Cairo

We stayed in a room with a pyramid view, and the view was truly spectacular. Everything was great, from the food to the service at the reception and concierge desk. We opted for the breakfast and dinner package along with happy hour, and both the food and wine were delicious.

You can see the pyramids from the hotel, and the environment is quite nice.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The room views and lounge areas were fantastic too! The front desk staff, the servers at Restaurant 139, and the security personnel all provided excellent service. We requested a late check-out until 2 PM, which gave us plenty of time to relax and explore the hotel. The baggage attendant at the pick-up point was incredibly kind! Just a heads-up, crows do try to sneak some breakfast! One side of the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and I'm really looking forward to staying in the newly renovated section next time, especially since the bathroom didn't have a showerhead, which was a bit inconvenient.

Everything was great, especially the view from the room! The hotel itself is very spacious and grand, and it offers direct service to the pyramids.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the pyramids. Personally, I don't think a room with a view is necessary. The breakfast restaurant offers a clear view of the pyramids, which made for a very pleasant dining experience!

Fantastic hotel, definitely worth the price! You can even watch the Giza pyramid light show from your balcony at night. The hotel's service was also excellent; any issues were resolved within minutes. I would choose this hotel again for my next visit.

Access, food, and service were all perfect!! The only downside was that the bathroom and toilet were combined, so even with a partition, the floor would get soaking wet. Other than that, everything was perfect!!!

It's wonderful to see the pyramids from the room. The proximity to the pyramids and the GEM is a big plus. The staff are friendly, and the 139 Pavilion restaurant is delicious. However, The Moghul Room isn't good.

The grounds and views are simply breathtaking – truly no alternatives. This is essentially why people come here and pay the price. HOWEVER! After staying at a good hotel in Cairo, Mena House feels like a budget trip to a summer cottage. This applies to everything: the interior, the furniture, the toiletries. The restaurant is expensive and not particularly tasty. They treat you like a tourist, meaning they don't really notice you or make an effort. You could just come here in the evening to take photos and dine at the restaurant. Probably, if I had known it was this simple, I would have done just that. They even bring tourists here by bus; we saw them. On the positive side, there's also a golf cart and a separate entrance to the pyramids. Tickets are paid, but the golf cart ride there and back is free. We had an unpleasant situation at the restaurant, which I reported to the manager when we were checking out. All the managers spoke with us and tried to resolve the situation. To leave a good impression and smooth things over, they gave me 5000 Marriott loyalty program points. But they won't be useful to me back home. I tried to book a same-day spa appointment but couldn't. For my birthday, they left a small cake in the room, and that was it. A room upgrade was offered for $500 for two days, not as a complimentary birthday gesture. The soundproofing is so bad it's like your neighbors are entering your room at night and lying down next to you in bed. The air conditioning wasn't working. This hotel is purely a tourist gimmick.
