Club Wyndham Newport Onshore

Don’t book here unless you’re a timeshare owner. The reviews are accurate for the rest of us. Extra Holidays (can’t book direct through Wyndham) called an hour before my families check in, moved us to another resort a mile away, put us in 2 one bedrooms instead of our reserved 2 bedroom, splitting up my family with small children, and even said it’s normal during check in. With a late evening check in, the desk clerk was far from helpful or knowledgeable. He even proceeded to give another guest keys mistakenly to our room not an hour later. The manager the next morning however was wonderful. Offering compassion and compensation to make things right as best she could. Unfortunately it seems that this type of overbooking by Wyndham is somewhat common. Omira is an asset to the company and made the remainder of our vacation quite enjoyable in a suite properly sized to our original booking. The resort was great thanks to her efforts the next morning. We only had a to spend one night apart. I’ve been through about 2 hours of phone calls with Extra Holidays still awaiting a refund, since I was charged by both them and Wyndham due to the shift. Hoping they make right on their refund soon but it’s been quite time consuming thus far. Book direct or beware has always been my thought, and I took a chance. Never again. Should have believed the bad reviews. We made the best of it but the initial process and check in was far from ideal.

Great location. Walked every where all weekend - did not need the car until leaving to go home.

Unfortunately check in is terrible that there's a person on the side of desk ready to accommodate you with places to go but be prepared do not attend any timeshare presentations just get your keys, of course dummies we attended & four hours later they tried with their whole spiel-get out ASAP it totally ruined our morning not worth your time be aware! And anything they give you not worth your time!

This Wyndham is a great winter getaway, walking distance to everything. The 2 bedroom is huge with lots of space to hang out during the snowstorm, which was lovely to watch from our warm unit.

Had trouble maintaining a consistent temperature in the apartment. Had to keep raising the temperature.

Club Wyndham Onshore was disappointing. The room did not feel clean; carpets visibly dirty and worn, and dated furniture. Our room had a mouse that was not very shy and we saw it multiple times while waiting for the front desk to get back to us. We had to go down to the lobby to get it resolved. Management initially said they could not move us and would just place a trap in our room…. They eventually found a room and moved us to a different floor. We were not given any other comps for this inconvenience late at night. The lower floors are closer to the rowdy bar on the ground floor. If you have kids or are planning on going to bed early, the 3rd floor is very noisy. Someone in the bar also accidentally pulled the fire alarm and we had to evacuate the hotel. Overall just a messy, poorly run hotel. Club Wyndham Long Wharf is much better than this one. Will not be staying here again.

This was our second time staying at Club Wyndham Onshore. The units are very large with a nice balcony and a smaller one on the back side. One bedroom has a large bathroom with a large tub which we never used. Would prefer a shower with glass door. There is a shower in the second bathroom off the kitchen. We were pleased with the location of our unit. Prefect for sunset!

Great property! Love our stays at the Onshore. Great location and the rooms are awesome.

What a perfect spot right in the middle of Newport. The 2 bedroom unit we had was perfect for 5 of us and felt like home. Plenty of room and very comfortable. The pool was never busy and the staff were helpful and responsive. Can’t wait to stay again!
