Not recommended, not recommended, not recommended!
Every year, I travel with my child and have stayed in so many hotels. Each time I choose a hotel, I read reviews. However, everyone's perception is different, and every hotel has negative reviews. I always ignore them and choose based on my own preferences. But this time, at this hotel, I truly understood the feelings of those who left negative reviews. There's a reason for them, and I sincerely don't recommend this hotel. Here's why:
1. **The hotel's location is a major flaw.** Ctrip states it's 550 meters (8 minutes) from the subway station. Most people arrive by plane, right? In reality, the walking distance from Subway Line 2, Exit C, to the hotel is 784 meters (13 minutes). For travelers who leave early for sightseeing and return late and tired, this distance is awkward. Taking a taxi isn't worth it, and walking is too tiring and time-consuming. The hotel will surely claim its location is excellent, surrounded by Zhonglou Community and Defuxiang, etc. But do travelers really only visit these two places every day?
2. **The hotel facilities are old.** The overall lighting is dim. The corridor lights in the room are motion-activated, which is really annoying. The washroom area is already dim, so I need the corridor lights. I had to keep stomping my feet to finish washing. The power outlets in the room were also loose. And speaking of the dim lighting in the hallways, I saw a review mentioning guests accidentally opening the wrong door because of it, and I experienced it perfectly. At midnight, I kept pressing the door handle, trying to open my room door. As another negative reviewer said, if the lighting were bright enough, this probably wouldn't happen. Furthermore, the hotel elevator doesn't require a key card, so food delivery personnel can go up to the rooms freely. Some might find this convenient, but I believe most people traveling alone would find it unsafe.
3. **The attitude problem, which is what I most want to talk about.** The overall attitude of this hotel, as someone else previously reviewed, is seemingly enthusiastic but actually superficial and doesn't solve problems at all!
* First, one day I returned from sightseeing and went to pick up a package. I went straight to the front desk, simply wanting to ask where the parcel shelf was. Before I could finish speaking, the staff member pointed to the other side: "Tourist inquiries are over there." It was as if she was afraid I'd say one more word to her.
* Second, the room next to mine ordered takeout at 3 or 4 AM every night, making a lot of noise, and also frequently tried to open the wrong door late at night. When I reported it to the front desk, their first response was, "He's a foreigner," which made me scoff. Then they said they would remind him, but I knew it wouldn't happen because there was no change.
* Third, I stayed for 9 nights. Since my flight was in the evening, I wanted to see if I could get a two-hour late check-out. Again, before I could finish speaking, the front desk mechanically recited the late check-out fees. However, a male manager eventually agreed to a one-hour extension. To be fair, I commend the male manager; I've seen other reviews where he was the one solving problems.
* Fourth, the so-called follow-up calls are just for show; I suggest they cancel them, they're meaningless. On the third day of my stay, I received a call from a number ending in 9795 asking about my stay. I was on Mount Hua at the time and told them to call me back later. I actually wanted to share my experience then, but I never received another call. On the day I left, I received the same call at the airport, but I couldn't hear clearly. I hung up and tried to call back, but there was no response. This is probably how their follow-up ends. Is there any point to it?
* Fifth, when I got home, I discovered my nightgown was left at the hotel. It was a very thin and inexpensive item, but I still wanted to ask about it. I clearly remember it was wrapped in the duvet because I had laid out my own bedding and rolled up the duvet when I left. The result was the same as other guests who left things behind: it was not found.
On the second day of our stay, my child told me, "Mom, let's switch hotels." At the time, since the bedding was already laid out and our luggage spread everywhere, and we were tired from sightseeing, I decided to just make do. I never expected so many things to happen. I really should have listened to my child and changed places. I want to give some sincere advice to future travelers: choose hotels with stable quality, like Atour, or choose budget-friendly hotels with good value for money, like Home Inn, or even star-rated hotels like Zhonglou Hotel. Absolutely avoid hotels that are subpar in every aspect like this one; they will truly affect your travel mood.
Once again, I commend the male manager who solved problems; he was the only person I saw at this hotel who actually resolved issues. If any responsible management sees this review, I sincerely hope they reflect on it. Those mechanical answers are useless. One day, I overheard two staff members in the restaurant saying that the hotel's business wasn't as good as other branches, and everything happens for a reason.
One more thing: I checked out at 3 PM, but my room fee was deducted at 7 AM. Ctrip clearly stated 'payment upon departure,' didn't it? Isn't that a bit unseemly?
