Our stay at the Hillbrook Inn and Spa from 2/15-17 was a disappointment from the beginning. Our suite, the Bramford Suite, the hotels finest, was dark and dingy, and did not look like the picture on the website. Light bulbs were out, the ceiling had a large spot of primer (from a leak?), the outlets were missing their outlet covers and the closets were full of paint cans and construction equipment, The room looked like it was being renovated but hastily set up for guests in between reno times. Dinner…3 courses, $135.00 per (the website said $125.00). You could add 3 wines for additional $75.00 per…$25.00 for a glass of wine seemed extreme as did the dinner, but we were celebrating so went with the program. Had a lovely cocktail in the cute bar, then were seated at 6:30, our reserved time. There were 2 tables already seated in our dining area and a few more in the upper dining room. Waiter arrived and took our order, without the additional $75.00 charge for wine. Dinner rolls appeared about 7; 1st course 7:30; 2nd course almost 8, and it was incorrect. Finally served about 8:10 with correct dishes and received dessert 8:30. Food was tasty but skimpy, especially at that price. Breakfast the following 2 days was hearty and served by wonderful servers. The staff was amazing, courteous, friendly and helpful. After reading all the positive reviews, however, our stay was nothing short of disappointing. Don’t think we will return.
