Beautiful place. Exceptional service. I have allergies for fish and they were good with making different kaiseki course for me. They have their own transfer bus, so you can also easily visit Kawaguchiko. 32 types of wine available at the bar to taste. Also suitable for weddings. Deserves every good review

I had an excellent stay at Kaneyamaen. The hotel is beautiful and offers a relaxing atmosphere, making it a wonderful place to experience the beauty of the Fuji area. The hotel provides convenient parking, and one of the highlights of my stay was the stunning Japanese garden within the property. It was especially beautiful during the cherry blossom season, and enjoying the sakura in such a peaceful setting was unforgettable. The staff were polite, professional, and very helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped with all the necessary amenities. The view of Mount Fuji from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious, with a good selection of dishes. The public bath was also excellent, clean, and relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

Kaneyamaen is such a beautiful hotel - everywhere you turn, there’s something lovely to see. Also, I can’t recommend the staff enough!! Everyone was so gracious and pleasant, and our dinner server was a delight to converse with even with my limited Japanese skills. By the way, the included dinner is an 8 course meal — I didn’t know that when we booked. No complaints here!! The rooftop hot spring was a highlight, don’t miss out on that. I would recommend taking advantage of the free yukata rentals as well. There were more amenities than I had time to engage with, so if I could do this trip over again, I would definitely plan to stay for more than one night. Keep Kaneyamaen at the top of your list of onsen hotel options!!!

My second visit, it was still amazing. A lot of activities to keep you busy, matcha tea tasting, Japanese wine tasting, many Japanese wine options in the wine lounge. We enjoyed the local cultures, Yukata costumes, Japanese drum performance…etc. Though the price is high, those activities and performances made us feel worth. Not to mention we had very good angle to view the Mount Fuji.

Overall, it was good. The faucet in the room needs improvement. It's odd why they'd use a water-saving faucet with an automatic sensor—it's really inconvenient and should be fixed. The daily hotel performances were excellent.

We spent our anniversary with my girlfriend in Kaneyamaen, and our experience was above and beyond. Starting with the shuttle option provided by the hotel from Mishima station, which also took us to Oshino hakkai, what a gorgeous place, before ending up at the hotel. We were really satisfied of our driver who shared facts about Yamanashi prefecture and Fuji. Our check-in process was also a really nice experience. From the moment we arrived we felt the hospitality of the hotel service crew. They escorted us to our room and helped with our luggage. Staying at a Sanri-Comfort Western Room, we had access to 2 lounges, where in one of them we had access to many kind of amazing wine from Yamanashi, among other tasty snacks. We choose our yukata and headed for matcha tasting. This is located in another part of the building which also gives us a peak at the wonderful garden. The matcha and snack we received helped us settle in with the calm garden view. Then came dinner. My god, the dinner was above and beyond. Neither of us had an 8 course dinner before with such a perfect service and absolutely amazing food. Hats of to the restaurant and service crew. Truly impressed. We decided to walk of the calories in the hotels beautiful garden at night. The illumination creates a really romantic experience. After this, we attended the Taiko drum show, which is organized by the hotel crew. First time for me and I can say it definitely made our experience even more special. Fantastic work. Then the star of the show. The open-air bath on the balcony. The sight of Mt. Fuji early morning from the bath, was a magical experience which we'll never forget. The buffet breakfast provides a great selection of food and drinks, rest assured we left very pleased. All in all, this was an extraordinary stay for us. Nothing but max points. Wish we'll have the chance to visit again.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise with an unexpectedly rich array of activities. Hidden in the back garden was a large, beautifully manicured Japanese garden. Sipping Japanese matcha while gazing at the small bridges and flowing water was incredibly relaxing. The taiko drum performance was incredibly energetic! The young performers had amazing stamina, drumming, dancing, and chanting all at once. During the intermission, they even invited children to join in and drum to the rhythm. I later found out it was a performance put on by the hotel staff themselves, which showed so much love and dedication. There were also bingo games and piano performances, and even one-year-old kids got to wear cute little yukatas! 🫰 From the room, we had a view of Mount Fuji, which was still covered in snow in March. It was cold but stunningly beautiful. The only minor downsides were that the rooftop open-air onsen with Mount Fuji views was open to women only very early in the morning, and we didn't get a chance to enjoy it due to our schedule. Also, the food might not have been the freshest; after all, fresh seafood isn't exactly a mountain specialty. While we didn't experience vomiting or diarrhea after eating, we did feel a bit off for two days.
