Dar Sultan

Dar Sultran was absolutely exceptional and managed by the most amazing and wonderful staff. Said, Nadia, El Abraham, Sanea , Amal each were beyond exceptional they took care of us just as we were family. The care that was shown to us is nothing we have ever experienced. From the moment we entered the raid we were treated as if we were the only visitors and I know for sure they treated all the guest with the same kindness and care. Thank you to this wonderful staff for treating us like royalty. This raid is beautifully equipped to provide a wonderful and lasting experience.

What a lovely stay we had in this unique lodging! We had an intensely warm welcome as we arrived. Said, the front desk manager was so gracious to us as were all the others people that we met there. We enjoyed refreshments while Said familiarized us with their services. He was happy to provide names of registered tour guides and to answer questions regarding local attractions. This is an intimate establishment, so different than a typical cookie cutter type hotel. The decor reflects historical furnishings of the area. Rose petals on the coverlet, cookies and bottled water greeted upon arrival in our room. Staff members carried our luggage up the multiple flights of stairs. You need to be able to walk up at least one flight of stairs to manage a stay here. It was worth it for the views. My regret is that the terrible rain and wind during our two night stay prevented us from enjoying our lovely patio. Breakfast included a number of tasty choices. Everything was attractively served at a time that we requested the previous day. We recommend this establishment for anyone wishing to experience a local Tangier stay.

The staff at Dar Sultan are the definition of gracious hospitality. Really lovely people. And Nadia is a great cook. I didn't get everyone's names but they were all wonderful. The room was clean and fine for our short stay.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Dar Sultan! Tucked away on a quiet street in the kasbah it was the perfect retreat from the busy Medina. Beautifully an uniquely decorated with carefully cultivated collections that were a feast for the eyes! One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed. We were at the uppermost room, which meant climbing lots of stairs each day, but the view at the top was worth it! Breakfast each morning was an affair— more pastries than we could ever hope to eat, fresh fruits and juices each day, and eggs on offer. Excellent coffee and lots of tea selections as well. Nadia and Abdul were fantastic—both were always ready with a smile and great conversation. They really made our stay enjoyable. We would definitely and highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a welcoming and beautiful riad in Tangier!

All of the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, copius, and a great way to start the day. Every room is different and the staff left little treats each evening. Don't miss the rooftop terrace for great views of the harbor and the entire city.

Great location, very pretty interior decor, exceptionally clean. Breakfast was plentiful with variety. Ibrahim, Mehdi and Nadia were eager to attend to our needs. Potential guests should note that stairs to upper rooms are rather steep, there is no elevator; also, there are cats on premises. Very peaceful atmosphere

The place is well furnished and decorated. My room comes with the terrace and rooftop, which offer a spectacular views of the Medina and Strait of Gibraltar. The staff are helpful.

I've traveled a lot and the team at Dar Sultan were exceptional. Excellent customer service going above and beyond. Loved the place!!

The riad is beautiful and in a great location. The team at the riad are wonderful and welcoming. Dar Sultan is beautifully decorated inside and is very comfortable, clean and well taken care of. The breakfast on the roof is incredible - the biggest breakfast I have ever seen! A couple of notes - the stairs in the riad are very steep. If you have any problems that might make managing them difficult this riad is not for you. There is no elevator in this traditional building. - the twin room is great, but has almost no floor space and just a small wardrobe. Make sure you know your roomie very well. Othere than that, I have no hesitation to recommend this riad. There are multiple excellent restaurants nearby - Le Salon Bleu, all down rue de la Kasbah. And the crazy souks are nearby. And for any day tours and trips the team at Dar Sultan will do anything they can to assist. We had a great time.
