A Contradictory Experience: From Delight to Disappointment in One Hotel
This hotel leaves very mixed feelings. The pros and cons seem to balance each other out.
The Good:
1. Reception: Check-in took two minutes, no unnecessary questions or delays - a huge plus after a long trip.
2. Quiet room: I was lucky with my room (the first door on the left off the corridor). No neighbours on the other side of the wall, very peaceful. I slept really well.
3. Staff: All the staff were super friendly. Special thanks to the housekeeping team - they were the nicest and most thorough I’ve encountered in two months in Thailand.
4. Location: There’s a 7-Eleven Select just around the corner, which served as a lifesaver with excellent cappuccino.
The Not‑So‑Good:
1. Breakfast:This was an experience in itself. The first two days were simply awful. After that, it improved to a solid “four out of five”, but the aftertaste remained. The fruit was cut the previous day (or the morning before) and by the time it was put out on the buffet, it was already starting to spoil. I also noticed a strange pattern: on the day they served ham, the fruit selection included papaya; on the day they had melon, the ham was nowhere to be seen. The coffee at breakfast was terrible.
2. Pool: This is a critical detail for anyone choosing accommodation. The pool closes at 7 PM, but this information is not on the website — only the rooftop terrace hours are listed. I wish management would add this, as it’s very important when making a decision. Also, there were no soap or toiletries in the poolside showers — a small but annoying oversight.
3. Bar & cocktails: The situation was odd. I tried to order a cocktail one evening and was told three times, “Come back tomorrow during happy hour.” I had no problem paying full price, but the persistent redirection made me wonder about the quality. Eventually I tried a non‑alcoholic cocktail with a coupon — it was so disappointing that I lost all desire to order anything else at the bar.
4. Room & balcony: The balcony furniture was just awful. After 20 minutes of sitting there, you’d be ready to rush off to a masseur to fix your back.
