Hartstone Inn

Ok place at around $150.00. If you pay more, you will be disappointed. Poorly managed, poorly maintained. But, the location is great!

First the positives - great location right in Camden. Staff friendly. Breakfast okay. On site parking. Not so good - room did not match description. It was tiny and very tired. The ‘garden’ view was of a roof. Bed uncomfortable and pillows lumpy. Towels the size of large hand towels. Had to ask for bathrobes. Aircon unit stuck in the small window. Beware - the bathroom is across the hall. See photos. Not worth the exorbitant amount charged.

The location was great. The whole place looked dumpy, the carpeting disgusting . Our room was on the top floor, bed lumpy and uncomfortable. the trip up to our room saw disgusting worn carpeting, pealing wall paper, and a vacuum left out in the hall. I would not recommend this place especially for the money it cost

We loved this place. We stayed in the Carriage house which was very charming and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and our meal at their restaurant. Walking distance to pretty much everything including the trails on Mount Battie, the harbor where we took a great sunset sail and your are in the midst of town with all the cute little shops and restaurants. Highly recommend!

The proximity to the harbor and the breakfast were good. However, the room was only cleaned one of the three nights we were there. There was no staff available in the evening, and we had to hunt for some fresh towels so we could take a shower when we got back from sightseeing.

Beautiful quaint hotel, they definitely took the time to decorate and add amenities to the rooms. We stayed in the Paris room and loved it. The hotel is in walking distance to downtown Camden, so much to do. I highly recommend staying there.

Excellent stay at Hartstone Inn. Beautiful spot right in Camden close to everything you will need on your stay. I will definitely come back again and enjoy their hospitality.

My wife and I travel extensively and have stayed in many B&Bs. We were very disappointed by our stay at Hartstone. The staff were WONDERFUL and did their very best to make our stay comfortable, however the owners are clearly just taking cash from the building with little maintenance or upgrade. The room was very clean, however there were several holes in the walls that were roughly patched, but not sanded or painted. There was rust on the metal heater and doors. The mirror was chipped in several places. And more.... Most importantly, no one mentioned that the heat pump system was inoperable, while the outside temp was about 50F. When I tried to start the gas fireplace, it didn't work either. The staff tried their best, and finally the manager came and got it running in manual mode. The room became warmer, then way too hot (80F) so we had to switch that off. The manager brought a small electric heater and we discovered a small, rusty baseboard heater in the bathroom which we used all night to keep the room warm. We can't comment on the breakfast since we left early and ate breakfast in town.

Tiffany makes some amazing drinks. The elderflower cosmo and the gin kiss were both delicious!!
