Great and timely service. Friendly staff. Special mention to Innocent (Reception) and Geoffrey (Dinning area) Beautiful private beach 😔 Distance from the airport. Room lacked vanity kit (Toothpaste, toothbrush, shower cap) All in all, great place, worth the time and money. Will come again. Rating - Strong 8.5/10

Amazing staff who looked after us so attentively throughout with amazing and friendly service which made the holiday. The property is immaculate on a beautiful beach setting. Very quiet and perfect for a relaxing break. Food was varied and kept interesting. Fantastic breakfasts in particular though meat and fish dishes were a bit disappointing - generally very tough and left us feeling guilty at having to leave food that could’ve been improved. But overall a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to return

Our family of 4 just stayed in the Grand Ocean suite for 9 nights and we were blown away with how nice and helpful the staff were. First this resort is so CLEAN. The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. Great showers and baths with very hot water and great water pressure. The mini bar was always stocked with beer sodas and waters… The resort felt very safe… there was always security at the front gate and down by the beach. There is only 1 restaurant but they offer so many options every day… for the first 7 nights we had the buffet which had at least 30 different things to choose from… I am a picky eater and allergic to many spices but I was able to find something to eat and the chef made me plain pasta when requested… my family loves spices so they enjoyed it all… there was always pasta, beef, chicken, and fish dishes to choose from. The last few nights they set up candlelight dinners around the property so we ate in the garden and by the pool those nights and ordered from a menu of options. The property is beautiful… the website pictures really don’t convey how nice it is, especially the beach area. The tides do go out pretty far everyday so there are times when you can’t swim in ocean but the stretch of beach to walk down is magnificent and there are so many beautiful shells to find. There are hundreds of sea urchins in waters in Zanzibar so bring water shoes. The staff is so attentive and proactively reaching out to help with anything

CAVEAT EMPTOR! BUYER BEWARE! Claiming to be a 5-star resort, they struggled to be 3 stars filled with short comings. To begin D of Z is definitely not disabled person friendly as there are stairs everywhere except into the pool where you must enter down a wall ladder. Bars and dining rooms are on the second floors or at least a few stairs up. Food was INEDIBLE. We lived on rolls, tomato and cucumber for 2 weeks. There was nothing to tempt us at all. Soup was hit and miss. Grilled meat in the evening was dire as were the pizza squares and brochette (white toast with chopped tomato, I think) Breakfast was ok as they offered fresh omelettes and waffles (if you asked for a fresh one and not the cold rubbery ones off of the buffet.) Lunches and dinners were always cold and over cooked. Chatting with the other guests we found that this was the complaint from everyone. Spices were not existent which was strange as spices are one of Zanzibar's high points. On one of our first nights, we went to the roof-top bar, the bartender left us sitting at the bar for 15 minutes without acknowledging us. When I commented that we would like a drink he responded with "You are not the only person in the bar" There were only 2 other people there! The resort also had limited internet making checking emails almost impossible. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully designed, large and spacious. Dream of Zanzibar is not 5 star but more like a Nightmare off Tanzania.

Our stay was great,their food was great but the drinks were not the best.They didn’t know how to make Margaritas,and Pina Coladas.Manager was great but incurred some extra cost when we arrived at the facility and some didn’t make sense.There massage parlor was good but overpriced.lastly they turn off water and WiFi on the day of check out at midnight even before you leave which was the craziest thing I have ever seen!!

All in all a very pleasant place with friendly staff who took good care of the guests . The only downside is the slightly worn bathroom with poor water pressure. A male pushy salesman for SPA and massage was annoying. We were not interested and it took 5 days before he gave up.

Good standard of cleanliness in rooms, beds turned down every night, as well as spraying with repellant every evening. All team were super friendly, especially Joyce, Generozza, Happiness- all first class. Pascal-head chef, always wanted feedback to ensure all food met expectations- which was varied, fr3sh and really tasty. Would highly recommend and would certainly think about coming back.

Perfect getaway. Nice rooms with options for oceanfront suites.
