I am still currently at the hotel, having already spent 3 nights here. I’ll try and write an honest review as someone who has travelled the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels/resorts. Let me start with the positives - it’s located in an idyllic location by a beautiful mountain range/forest. Mystras as a village is quaint with a few restaurants, and not much more. The room (I’m in an executive deluxe) is roomy, beautifully decorated and very clean. Housekeeping comes twice and day and are thorough 👍🏼 I would have expected there to be a some fruit pieces in the room, but none were offered. Still water bottles replaced each day. The dining is experience is “ok”. Choice of meals is pretty limited and very expensive for what they are. If you just want a snack for lunch, you’re out of luck. It’s the main menu from 12:30 until 4pm. Finally the Spa - as a venue, it’s beautifully designed and decorated. BUT brace yourself for eye wateringly expensive treatments. For a 60 min hammam you will be paying €221 €50-70 in a Moroccan or Turkish 5 * resort, I paid €221 for what turned out to be a basic hypno session (€100 elsewhere), interrupted twice mid-session by others banging on the door as they wanted the room!! Effectively it cost me €1k in treatments, which would have cost me 25-50% less elsewhere. So as a hotel I think it’s great, but the astronomical spa treatments seriously lets it down.
