We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely choose it again. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They also took the time to help us find a tour while we are with them. We really enjoyed our welcoming letter and felt the personalization was a great touch. The breakfast the next morning was very yummy and filling You can’t go wrong staying in this hotel!

My stay at the Old Cinema Hotel in Kampot was absolutely exceptional. This place has an incredible atmosphere—the combination of the history of the old cinema with modern comfort creates an atmosphere unlike any other hotel I've ever experienced. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and meticulously crafted. The staff deserve a special mention—smiling, helpful, and always ready to offer advice on what to see and do in the area. Breakfast is fresh and truly delicious, and the entire facility is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The location is also excellent: quiet, yet just a few minutes' walk from the center of Kampot, restaurants, and nightlife. This is a hotel with a soul, where you immediately feel at home. I highly recommend it and will definitely return!

I read a couple of blogs about Hotel Old Cinema, and since I’m an art deco lover, just had to check it out for myself. So, I threw caution to the wind and booked a 3-night stay without researching the town of Kampot. It was a gamble, and thankfully it paid off in spades. From the moment we entered the lobby, my husband & I were entranced. The attention to detail is amazing: everywhere you look is perfectly curated to the era. The staff are warm and welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. After a welcome drink and brief introduction, we were ushered upstairs to our suite. WOW, just wow is all I can say. Spacious, well appointed, creatively curated and most importantly, super comfortable. We instantly felt right at home: from the luxurious king-sized bed through to the private balcony. Breakfast was an event in itself, with several options to choose from all of which were of generous proportions. A great way to start the day. The boutique hotel currently has 8 rooms/suites, but renovations are underway to add 4 more. It is centrally located: walking distance to many cafes & restaurants. Tuk tuks are stationed outside that can take you on day trips. The pool is a great way to cool off at the end of a day of touring, and don't miss the Gin Club between 5-7pm. A wonderful and memorable stay that was a true highlight of our 5--week holiday. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Old Cinema for 3 nights and had a really enjoyable experience. The hotel and all the staff were just lovely, everyone was really friendly and helpful. They arranged an airport transfer as well as mopeds for us. The gin club (20% off gin) each evening was great! Would recommend.

We have just spent three nights at The Old Cinema Hotel and in was brilliant. The building dates back to the 1930s and is Art Deco in design. Very quirky in style. All the staff are lovely and the service was great. Although we didn't eat dinner here, the breakfast and snacks we had were fantastic and had we stayed another night we would have had an evening meal here too. They do a gin club 5pm to 7pm each night. 20% off usual prices. The section and quality of gins is fantastic! Very well located within the old town area. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only negative point I can make is that the bed had a large, low, wide wooden frame surrounding it. This may be common in this part of the world however, it makes it awkward getting in and out of bed and it's very easy to knock your shin on it! This is just an observation and I would not hesitate staying here again. Loved our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Cinema. Firstly the style of the hotel is gorgeous in keeping with the 1920s deco feel of the building . We had a superior room which was really spacious with a great terrace to be able to sit and relax. The staff are absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much trouble . They are more than happy to organise tours out . We had 2 tours one to Kep and one to Bokor National Park both organised in tuk tuks . They also organised a taxi for us to and from the hotel , all of which was very efficient. Finally the restaurant , both breakfast and dinner is fantastic . The food is so good and the best we had in Kampot. Also a special mention to the ladies serving in the restaurant and bar who were absolutely so welcoming and friendly. We also loved the Gin happy hour 😀

Bas and his team have created a beautiful space that makes for a very relaxing stay. Once you step inside the former cinema entrance, it’s like stepping into a different world with cooling greenery, stunning artwork and a small but perfectly formed swimming pool. The bar is an absolute delight and as a gin lover, I loved exchanging gin notes with the staff during the nightly ‘gin club’. It’s a really special place and about as far as away from a bland, anonymous hotel as it’s possible to be. We were lucky enough to have a specious suite on the first floor overlooking the pool area – the highlight of which had to be our amazing terrace / veranda which was as big as the sleeping area of the room itself. I loved early mornings on the sofa on the terrace with a book – blissful. The room is lovely, with a great walk in shower room and separate toilet. We had a small living area too which is always a nice bonus. The bed was fabulously comfortable, the room silent and cool. In terms of location, the Old Cinema is on a road leading down from the Durian roundabout and really central to the riverside and the area with plenty of restaurants and bars. We were in Kampot during the Water Festival and it was very busy so we enjoyed taking respite from the crowds in a bar and watching the festivities on and along the water. The best thing about the hotel though, as with so many places in Cambodia, is the wonderful staff. It was lovely to come back to them after a day of sightseeing and exploring and have a chat with them over a drink before dinner. Bas also sorted us out with a great tuktuk driver to take us to a pepper plantation and Kep (side note – don’t got to Kep during the Water Festival unless you love traffic jams!). I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else in Kampot!
