I booked this hotel with full awareness of its location and distance from Ao Nang, so location is not something I would comment on negatively. My decision was based on several recent reviews, though unfortunately, my actual experience was quite different from what I had expected.
Prior to arrival, I had requested an early check-in. While I understand that early check-in is subject to availability, it would have been appreciated if the request had at least been acknowledged or if some effort to prioritize the room had been communicated. Upon arrival, the AFOM simply informed us that check-in time was at 3:00 PM and that the room would only be ready then.
After entering the room, we found the cleanliness to be below expectation. The floor felt sticky and unclean, and the in-room slippers appeared to have been reused and were not properly cleaned. As a result, we chose not to use them and instead wore our own socks throughout the stay.
Upon arrival, we were informed that water in the room was complimentary, though no mention was made regarding any limit. After finishing the initial bottles, I exchanged the empty ones with housekeeping, who kindly provided replacements. However, shortly afterward, the AFOM called to inform us that additional bottles would be charged at 30 THB each, as only two bottles per day were complimentary, they repeatedly mentioned - as per policy. For me, this is more a matter of principle and communication. If there were limitations or charges involved, this should have been communicated beforehand rather than after the water had already been provided. Charging for additional drinking water also felt unnecessarily restrictive. We returned the additional bottles they gave to the AFOM. Funny thing was, the next day after we return from Spa, they placed four bottles of water at the door knob for us without asking. We did not consume any as we are not certain if it will be chargeable. If it is a daily replenish, why not two as per the policy but why four.
Breakfast selection was another disappointment. Although we only stayed for two days, the offerings appeared repetitive, and conversations with other guests mentioned this was a consistent experience throughout their stay.
The hotel’s hygiene standards were also concerning, particularly in the dining area where flies were noticeably present, yet there seemed to be no visible effort to manage the issue.
Service was inconsistent throughout the stay. While some staff member, particularly Chan, was friendly and helpful, several kitchen and restaurant staff came across as unfriendly or rude. I am unsure whether this was due to a language barrier or service attitude.
One particularly uncomfortable incident involved a staff member taking a photo of us while we were seated on the shuttle without our permission. After raising the matter with Trip.com, we were informed it was supposedly for management proof. However, it felt inappropriate, especially considering the staff member waited for us to be seated and counted before taking the photo.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel — not because of its location, which I knowingly accepted when booking, but due to concerns regarding cleanliness, communication, hygiene, and overall service standards.
