Hotel Ragaso

My favorite hotel in Japan after 2 months travelling! The staff were amazing, and the rooms were clean, lovely, and offered a beautiful ocean view. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that they prepared delicious meals just for me. The bath and sauna were a welcome treat after a long day of hiking. It was also very affordable for a solo traveler. I used the hotel as a base for a couple of nights while hiking the Michinoku Trail between Miyako and Kuji. It was perfect, with easy train access for each stage of the trail.

I stayed in Hotel Ragaso for two nights, specifically to walk some of the Michinoku Coastal Trail. The location was perfect for this. The views incredible, staff are so kind and helpful, and their onsen has the best view imaginable. Food was meticulously prepared and the room was comfortable, with an ample fresh tea leaf set on arrival

Great accommodation after a day on the Michinoku Trail. The view from our room was fantastic. The reception and restaurant staff were amazing.

The employees have been very flexible and helpful, which is not the usual way in Japan.

Hotel by the sea has a nice view and clean and comfortable rooms with a bit of space for suitcases. The breakfast has a good range of food and was tasty. It was a little way from restaurants if you didn’t book in there for dinner, but overall a good experience.

Value stay with good food and onsen. First room assigned was not the cleanest, but staff changed the room on request. Peaceful & scenic, ideal for a relaxing stay to enjoy the area. No stores nearby though.

Beautiful location, nice and clean rooms.

The hotel is about half an hour ride from Ryusendo Cave (龍泉洞) and is close to the Sanriku Coast. Judging from photos, it’s probably better than other hotels nearby in terms of cleanliness and amenities. It doesn’t disappoint me. The public bath （大浴場） is good. The view over the coast is perfect.

While on my hike it was nice to spend a night at a hotel with an onsen to relax
