The hotel's location is very convenient. We arrived at the train station at 2 a.m. and were in our room within 10 minutes. Reception is open 24 hours. The room is clean and tidy, and the beds are comfortable, albeit a bit firm.

The rooms are nice and clean. All newly decorated All appliances in the room are new. Unfortunately, you should prepare soap, shampoo, shower cream, and shower cap for customers as well.

£11 is outstanding value. Perfect after a long train ride from hua hin for an overnight stay. It’s 2 minutes from the train station. An easy check in. I think you get a breakfast ( basic) in the price too but I did not bother. The rooms are big, air con is very good, fridge tv and a good bathroom.., i been to Thailand 29 times in 20 years abd I travelled the length and breadth of Thailand stayed in 100 plus hotels and for pure value this no1. It’s not the Hilton of hua hin but £11 v £134 a night thete is one clear winner .. just over the railway bridge and go right 200 yards on tje left are two brilliant riverside restaurants .

So can mediocre get 4 stars. The answer is yes…if it fulfilled your needs and was clean and comfortable. Queen hotel is 5 minutes walk from Surat Thani railway station. Perfectly placed if you need one or at most two nights waiting for bus to ferries or train north or south. Friendly reception, very large bedroom and spotless bathroom with not much hot water. No bedside lights. Comfortable bed. Perfect for short stay. R340 for the night, about USD 20. This is not a boutique hotel buttocks the boxes for meeting needs.
