Nanjyoen

A wonderful nostalgic hot spring inn; the facilities are old-fashioned but the atmosphere is very cozy. The bathing tubs with their vintage charm are also fantastic. The entire Kurokawa Onsen area is very peaceful, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

Overall, I found this hot spring inn to be quite good, costing a little over 2700 yuan for one night's stay including two meals. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the excellent Japanese service. Even though the staff's English wasn't great, they tried their best to communicate using Google Translate. The rooms were very Japanese-style, just like the pictures, and had bathrooms. Showering was done in the public bath on the first floor. The hotel had one onsen (one of which was available for a fee to outsiders) and two private onsen, available on a first-come, first-served basis. There was bed-making service at night and bed-cleaning service in the morning. The kaiseki dinner was decent and acceptable. Breakfast was also good. Overall, it was a good first experience, so I haven't made any comparisons yet.

The location is excellent with convenient parking available right outside. The rooms are neat and clean, and the hot spring street is beautiful at night. There are many types of hot springs available, making it a very worthwhile attraction to visit.

The staff were very friendly, and the Kaiseki was delicious. I plan to visit again with my family next time. The private family bath was empty when I went, so I was able to use it comfortably.

There's a parking lot right outside the restaurant, which is very convenient for those driving. The receptionist speaks Chinese, which is very welcoming.
