Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this relatively new hotel in Sapa, which opened this year. Although there is not much surrounding the hotel yet, possibly due to ongoing construction and new developments, it is conveniently located near the city area and easy to get around by Grab. It is also within walking distance of the HK Buslines drop-off point, although the walk uphill takes about five minutes.
Check-in was smooth, and the bellboy was helpful in assisting with our luggage both to the room and to our car upon checkout. Staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
One minor inconvenience was that guests need to tap their key card in the lift when going down to Level 1. This was not something we usually encountered at other hotels, so it took some getting used to.
The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a smart TV for Netflix and YouTube. The pillows were very firm, which we personally enjoyed, and we slept well every night. Noise from the lift and doors opening could occasionally be heard due to the small lift lobby, but we hardly heard other guests from their rooms.
There is also a rooftop area on Level 5 with a nice view, which is worth checking out during your stay.
Breakfast had a decent spread, including a salad bar, cereal, bread, fruits, eggs and hot dishes that varied daily. It was sufficient for a hearty breakfast before heading out for activities. However, the egg station could be better organised with a table number or queue system, as orders did not always seem to be tracked in sequence. The signage was also facing the wall, making it easy to miss. Positioning it towards guests would make the station easier to locate.
A few room improvements could make the stay more comfortable. A full-length mirror would be useful, and the toilet roll holder could benefit from a more practical design, as the roll sits separately inside a small cubby. The water temperature was also inconsistent when using the cold-water setting, alternating between cold, warm and extremely hot water. This could be improved for safety and comfort.
We also had some confusion regarding room service. The in-room menu indicated operating hours of approximately 9am to 9:30pm, but when we enquired at reception around 3–4pm for a light bite, we were advised to order around 6pm instead. We were unsure whether there had been a misunderstanding between the room service and café menus, and eventually decided not to order. Clearer communication regarding the available menu and operating hours would be helpful.
On our last night, we heard loud noises from the room above at around midnight, including shouting, crying and loud thuds. I contacted reception via WhatsApp, and the staff responded promptly to address the noise. I appreciated this quick response. We had previously been contacted via WhatsApp about room cleaning while our Do Not Disturb sign was displayed, so it was convenient to communicate with the team this way without disturbing my sleeping husband.
Overall, the hotel offers spacious rooms, comfortable pillows, a decent breakfast and helpful staff. While there are some areas for improvement, particularly the inconsistent water temperature, the lift access procedure and a few operational details, we appreciated the team’s responsiveness and assistance throughout our stay.
