This hotel hosts events for the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization, and all the furniture is made of bamboo and rattan. The location in Wangjing is decent. I hate to write a negative review… but honestly this hotel was pretty disgusting. Let’s start with the positive - the staff were friendly and the air conditioning was good. Now to the negatives - firstly it smelled horrid, like old sweat and smoke. Everything was dirty especially the bathroom, which also had cracked tiled etc. the bed was as hard as a rock. The room was also tiny. The entire hotel feels like it has not been renovated in many decades. Fundamentally it is cheap compared to other choices, but not cheap enough to warrant the discomfort. Next time I go to Beijing I will pay the extra and stay in a better hotel.

The location is excellent, only about 500 meters from the subway station. The front desk staff was quite welcoming, but the restaurant staff were a bit less so. The hotel's decor is a bit dated, as evidenced by the air conditioning control and the hairdryer (there's also a regular hairdryer). Almost every piece of furniture has some paint peeling, but overall it's clean. The mattress is a bit hard, and the soundproofing isn't great (you can clearly hear your neighbors talking, and it's a bit noisy from 10:00 to 11:30 PM, with children screaming and laughing... until it quiets down after 11:30 PM).
