Richmond Hotel Aomori

This was a續住 (extended stay), and I'm very grateful to the hotel staff for being so friendly and attentive. The room was bright and clean, and it was great that the window could open a crack! The hot water pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable shower. I'll definitely be staying here again!

Walking distance from Aomori Station, with easy access to dining and shopping. The hotel bar offers complimentary coffee and alcoholic beverages in a very comfortable setting. Great value for money, and there's a car park (payment at the front desk upon check-out).

The room was spacious and comfortable. Even though it was a smoking room, the smell was still bearable, and I could open the window a little. There was a water dispenser by the elevator. The parking is a mechanical system and costs 1000 yen per day. The hotel front desk is on the fifth floor, and the cheese bread from the bakery on the first floor is really good. This hotel didn't offer a late-night snack, and there was no apple juice available, which some reviews mentioned.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station and isn't on the main commercial street, but it's just around the corner from it. It's very close to Hirota Shrine, almost directly across the street. As soon as you enter the hotel, you're greeted by the scent of apples. There are apple models on display on the first floor, and the elevators are decorated with various apple illustrations and names. The breakfast selection is quite limited. While there are a few local specialties, the overall variety of dishes is too small. The scallop meat was very tiny and shredded, not whole pieces, putting it on par with the breakfast offerings at budget chain hotels.

The location is a bit far, about a 15-minute walk from Aomori Station, which was tough in the snow. Everything else was perfect though; the room was very comfortable, no complaints there.

Stayed in Aomori for four nights. The hotel room was well-equipped, and there was a convenience store downstairs. I highly recommend the breakfast; it mainly featured local specialties, with plenty of vegetables and less meat, making it very healthy and delicious. This time, I got to see the perfect snow scenery.
