City Express By Marriott Gettysburg

The front desk was so helpful and check in went so smoothly. The kids loved the breakfast downstairs every morning. It just makes for an easy trip. the only downside was I had a sked for adjoining rooms and was told that we would get them only to find out when we got there that our style of suite couldn't be connected. However, we did have rooms right beside each other.

Wrong room upon arrival. We were never informed that the hotel was under construction. So no pool no hot tub no work out center no businesses center. Complained to staff and manager and was told not their fault it was the 3rd party fault. All the front desk girl could do was giggle. Was told all king rooms were handicap accessible so no tubs were available no ice buckets were allowed no minor coffee makers or glasses allowed.

The staff was friendly, the room was a nice size and very clean. We brought our small dog and had no issues. It is in walking distance to the outlet mall and a short driving distance to Gettysburg National Park. We stayed during bike week and the hotel had clothes available for the bikes to maintain their bikes. It was a nice gesture. I would recommend staying here.

We had a good stay overall. The location is excellent—it's close to the major Gettysburg attractions and within walking distance of the Gettysburg Outlets, including stores like Adidas, Talbots, Under Armour, and others. The rooms were also clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Calling it a "buffet" is generous—it wouldn't even qualify as a basic continental breakfast. There was no fresh fruit or even canned fruit at all, the yogurt selection was very limited and bland, there were no regular scrambled eggs (only an odd egg-based dish), just a couple of sugary cereals with regular milk, and a few muffins. The selection was so poor that we skipped breakfast entirely and ate elsewhere each morning. If the hotel improved its breakfast, it would be an easy place to recommend.

The room definitely was not cold enough. It would not let us change the temperature too less than 68 degrees. Other than that it’s was very clean and a very nice hotel. We really appreciated the towels for the bikes.

The staff was not very knowledgeable, asked for itemized receipt, was not allowed to have. There were ants on the floor by the beds and tv stand even though it was supposedly new renovations. It advertised a pool but was told to go to the holiday inn if we wanted to swim. No vending machines on the floors. Not sure but I think the ice bucket was in with the garbage can. No one explained the charges and when asked no one had a clue.

Breakfast could be better, not a lot offered. But everything else was excellent!

Great hotel, clean, nice rooms, great location. Helpful and friendly staff.

Country Inn was closed for construction so they transferred us to the Holiday Inn Express nearby. Everything was fine.
