Xiamen Lujiang Harbourview Hotel

This hotel, built in 1958, has a lot of character, and I really loved its newly renovated design. The location is fantastic, right next to Zhongshan Road, and from our room, we had a direct view of Gulangyu Island. Enjoying the scenery from the balcony in the morning and evening was incredibly relaxing. The service was thoughtful, and the breakfast spread was plentiful. The bedding was also very comfortable. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay; apart from sightseeing, we spent a lot of time just lounging around the hotel. As night fell, Gulangyu Island's 'blue hour' was absolutely beautiful.

The Lujiang Hotel was hands down the most stylish hotel we stayed in! Built in 1958, it boasts nearly 70 years of history, yet it's been beautifully renovated and is incredibly clean. The hotel's decor and theme embrace a vintage Nanyang style, which is both elegant and tasteful. The amenities in the room were also meticulously chosen and thoughtfully designed. The toothpaste had a fresh scent, mouthwash was provided, and even the tissues had a subtle, pleasant fragrance – all of high quality. The bathroom featured a sauna, a Dyson hairdryer, and the tea set was equally elegant. In short, everything was top-notch! Another highlight I highly recommend is the Zhuyianji Photography studio on the first floor of the hotel. They offer qipao and traditional long gowns, and the makeup, hair, and clothing selections are all very impressive. The photographer patiently guides you through poses, and shooting within the hotel, complementing its ambiance, results in photos with an elegant Republic of China era feel – truly exceptional! Plus, the staff there are incredibly sweet without being pushy, which was a great experience. Definitely worth a try!

🌈 Xiamen's 'Shanghai Peace Hotel,' 'Guangzhou Aiqun Hotel' 🙋 Took my parents to Xiamen and wanted them to experience something different. 👏 Lujiang Garden is full of charm and boasts an excellent location. 🌸 It's right next to the entrance of Zhongshan Road, directly opposite the Xiamen Citizen Ferry terminal. 🍃 Booked a family room, and we got to sleep with the beautiful night view of Gulangyu Island. 👌 The oversized tatami mat could easily fit four children, no problem. 🍜 The booking included a buffet afternoon tea and a semi-buffet breakfast. 🍸 The afternoon tea is on the first floor – just think of it as an executive lounge. 🥂 The cocktails were good; I had two. 🥑 Breakfast is served in the scenic restaurant on the 7th floor, with fantastic outdoor views. 🧇 It's a semi-buffet, where you can scan to order dishes like bird's nest and shark fin, Shacha noodles, Eggs Benedict, and tuna crisps. The mixed scallops, smoked salmon, and seaweed shrimp cakes available on-site were all excellent. It makes sense for a single breakfast to cost 168 RMB. ✨ We had a very comfortable stay. I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance.

First time in Xiamen, and choosing a sea view room at Lujiang Hotel was an excellent decision! Located on Zhongshan Road, the location is superb, close to both the ferry and Bashi Market, making it very convenient to return to the hotel to rest after a tiring day of sightseeing. Although it's a king-size bed, the room is spacious enough and even has a small sofa for relaxing. The TV supports screen mirroring, and the bathroom features a vintage bathtub perfect for soaking away fatigue. The room faces Gulangyu Island directly, offering fantastic photo opportunities. Upon check-in, the front desk offered a cup of Xiamen tea, which was a unique touch. All the staff proactively helped open doors, pressed elevator buttons, and greeted guests. The overall vintage decor gives a sense of comfort and stability. The experience was excellent, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit!

The location is unbeatable, the views are incredible, and the facilities, environment, and service are all excellent. The food is also delicious. Every time I come to Xiamen, I have to stay here and definitely have a big meal at the Seaview Hall. This time, I even added the front desk lady on WeChat, and she shared travel guides and recommendations for attractions and food with me. I will definitely choose Lujiang Hotel again next time I visit Xiamen.

Facilities: Excellent. Hygiene: Housekeeping was prompt and much appreciated every day. Environment: Extremely convenient, easy to get anywhere, and the views are fantastic. Service: Excellent. The hotel's location is truly superb. Zhongshan Road is right downstairs, making shopping incredibly convenient. In the evening, sitting on the balcony and watching Gulangyu Island is incredibly relaxing!

I stayed for three nights in a sea-view twin room, and waking up each morning to the sunrise and city lights over Gulangyu Island was simply beautiful. The location is still perfect – Zhongshan Road is right downstairs, and the ferry terminal is just across the street. The room's Nanyang-style decor is charming, and the smart toilet, Dyson hairdryer, and complimentary mini-bar were all fantastic; they became even more convenient the longer I stayed. What truly stood out was the consistently excellent service: every staff member greeted me with a genuine smile. After three nights, my comfort only increased, and this hotel will definitely be my first choice next time I visit Xiamen.

Over 10 years ago, I stayed at the Lujiang Hotel on a business trip to Xiamen. I remember being very impressed with its spacious rooms and excellent location! Recently, I stayed again, and the experience was quite mediocre. For nearly 2000 a night, both the soft and hardware didn't live up to the price. Pros: The hotel's location is great, right at the intersection of Zhongshan Road, making it convenient to return from Gulangyu Island at night as it's close to the ferry terminal. The hotel breakfast is rich, a mix of buffet and à la carte. Cons: The hotel has been recently renovated, but it doesn't feel new at all. The sink in the room drains slowly, and the glass doors for the shower and toilet make a huge noise when closing. The hangers in the wardrobe are wider than the wardrobe itself, preventing the doors from closing properly, and the wardrobe light stays on constantly. The service awareness of the breakfast staff was zero. I ordered my food after being seated, then went to the buffet. When I came back, I found my seat had been taken, and three different groups of guests were occupying the same table simultaneously. Two waitstaff stood by the table the whole time, watching three groups share one table without offering any guidance.

I love staying in old hotels, they have so much character. This one was recently renovated, so all the facilities are modern, but it still keeps its original charm, especially the floor tiles and cabinet decorations, which have a very Southeast Asian feel. The front desk was also unique; they served tea to guests, which made a great first impression. I originally wanted to stay here for all four nights of my trip because it’s so convenient to get back to the room after getting off the island, and the transportation for dining, entertainment, and sightseeing is excellent. However, I also wanted to experience other hotels, so I only stayed here for two nights in the end. It's a shame that the weather in Xiamen was mostly cloudy and rainy during my stay; otherwise, I really could have taken hundreds of photos. I absolutely loved the 270-degree balcony!
