The Universal Studios Grand Hotel

Hotel check-in was seamless, and the room was well-equipped. The hotel breakfast was also very diverse, though it was quite crowded, so there was a queue during peak hours. A great perk is that hotel guests can enter the park an hour earlier. Thumbs up! 👍

First off, you can enter the park early, an hour before check-in, which helps with the queues. The lobby was a chaotic mess and very noisy. Service was okay, though. On check-out day, while we were still in the park, we picked up about seven or eight bottles of water from the baggage area, which wasn't great service. For a 2000-yuan hotel, there's no mini-bar. Breakfast was an extra 296 and was terrible. The seafood dinner at 258 wasn't fresh, only the roast duck was good, and the cakes looked nice. Absolutely no value for money. Better off at the hotel next door; rooms are bigger, and service is better, though you do have a bit of a walk to the park entrance.

Every time I visit Universal Studios, I book the Universal Studios Grand Hotel. I absolutely love the hotel's Californian style, and the breakfast is incredibly rich and varied. Getting to interact with the Minions is so adorable! Plus, being able to enter the park an hour early is fantastic, and the fact that the hotel is right inside the park is just perfect.

We booked a two-night stay in October to visit the park, traveling as a family of three with my 9- and 16-year-old daughters. We loved the hotel: it's spotlessly clean, cozy, quiet in the rooms, and the housekeeping is excellent. But the best part, of course, is the early park admission perk. The park opened at 10 AM, but hotel guests were let in around 9 AM. There was a short queue inside the hotel, but everything moved very quickly. We got to ride the attractions in the Harry Potter and Minions areas with no lines at all. Breakfast at the hotel is quite pricey and paid separately; we had it on the day we visited the park and skipped it on checkout day. The buffet is fantastic, and Gru, Agnes, and the Minions made appearances during breakfast, which was awesome 😍😍😍. It's super convenient to be able to go back and forth between the park and the room as many times as you like to rest—upon re-entry, they simply scan your face. Huge thanks to all the hotel staff. I definitely recommend staying here for the early admission and the ability to pop back to the room for a break during the day!

Booked a twin room that can sleep 4 people, and the surroundings are top-notch. Being able to take advantage of the 4-person early bird tickets makes it very good value for money. They always upgrade us to a theme park view room, the service is warm and enthusiastic, and they give out celebration badges for birthday months. Plus, you can go back to the room an unlimited number of times, and check-out was super fast.

The room was clean and tidy, and the themed room was extra adorable. There was even a welcome gift upon check-in, which the kids loved. The staff member at the front desk, Sister Xiaoniu, who handled our check-in, was also very responsible in explaining all the important details. Looking forward to staying here again!

For a room at this price point, it's just average. Don't blame it on being in a scenic area either; Chimelong, also a scenic area, is more meticulous than this. First, there are no bathrobes, and the disposable toiletries don't have any Universal Studios theme. However, I should also mention the good points. The Universal Studios Grand Hotel allows four people to stay in a double bed room and provides toiletries for four. The breakfast spread is abundant with many varieties, and there are Minion characters available for photos, and the staff are very enthusiastic. Check-in is not until 4 PM on the day of arrival, but you can store your luggage first and go play. Early park admission (one hour before opening) only grants access to the Minions and Harry Potter areas; other areas open at 10 AM. It's best to get an electronic photo package, which allows staff to take pictures at all meet-and-greet spots and chance encounters. You'll end up with hundreds of photos by the end of the day, which is really worth it. Overall, if you don't visit often, staying at The Universal Studios Grand Hotel for one night and playing for two days allows you to thoroughly enjoy everything without getting too tired.
