Zhouzhuang SCHOLARS BOUTIQUE Hotel

Overall, the hotel is fantastic! The only minor drawback with the facilities is that the air conditioning is a bit noisy and can't be turned off. The staff members are all very friendly. However, in the evenings after the front desk staff leave, the night watchman, an older gentleman, was a bit gruff. When I came back at night, he seemed to be sleeping on a couch by the entrance. That looked really unprofessional and doesn't match the quality of such a good hotel; it felt more like a budget guesthouse.

This hotel has a lot of character and is located right inside the Zhouzhuang scenic area. The front desk, room service, and restaurant staff were all warm and attentive. They offer complimentary white fungus soup every evening, and their homemade yogurt for breakfast was delicious. They even upgraded me to a room with a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Overall, I had a great stay. My only minor complaint is that taxis can't drive directly to the hotel entrance, but you can arrange for hotel staff to meet you at the scenic area's main entrance.

During the Chinese New Year, my family stayed here and absolutely loved it! The hotel has an elegant, antique charm and is perfectly situated in a quiet spot yet close to all the action. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the service was warm and welcoming. It's definitely a worthwhile stay if you're visiting Zhouzhuang.

The location is excellent, right inside the scenic area. The hotel's decor is lovely, and the courtyard has a very authentic Zhouzhuang style. The staff are also very friendly, and the room is spacious. However, the air conditioning was incredibly noisy, humming loudly all night long at a really high decibel, making it impossible to sleep. Also, the breakfast wasn't good; apart from the vegetables, everything else (milk, eggs, meat, fruit) was not fresh. In the end, we just had plain congee and vegetables to fill our stomachs... And then there's the bathtub, which was really dirty, probably hadn't been cleaned in ages.

I booked this hotel to experience the atmosphere of Zhouzhuang, swayed by all the hype. The breakfast was, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. The room facilities are outdated, and it took about 30 minutes for the AC to even start producing warm air. Getting hot water for a shower took an extremely long time. For a 1300+ RMB room rate, I felt like I was staying in a budget hotel. Ctrip is really starting to get out of hand.

The air conditioning in room 8116 was very noisy, sounding like a sewer. The breakfast selection was too limited and didn't even offer Zhouzhuang's local pastries. When it got crowded, there were only two stations for noodles, and replenishment was slow. The congee was also very watery. We paid 3200 for two rooms for two nights, and the breakfast wasn't even as good as what you'd get at a Hanting hotel. Are the hotel executives out of touch or just stingy? If it weren't for the warm and attentive staff, this price would be completely unjustified.

The location is excellent, the environment is elegant, and the room is clean. The front desk staff, especially, were warm and sincere—highly recommended. The only thing I hope they can improve is the variety and quality of the breakfast. For example, besides soy milk and congee, most other food items were cold. It's worth mentioning, though, that the breakfast restaurant service was excellent.
