AC Hotel Innsbruck

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. For the first two days, the weather was bad, so looking out the window, all I could see was a misty, foggy landscape, with the mountains reduced to a black and white silhouette. The real surprise came on the morning of the third day. When I habitually pulled back the curtains, my eyes were met with a stunning view: a clear blue sky and a continuous range of snow-capped mountains. The joy I felt was immediate and profound. Additionally, although my room was at the end of the hall, there was a spacious balcony right next to it that led to an emergency exit. This made it incredibly convenient for a quick stretch or exercise in the morning.

After checking out, the hotel charged us a 180 Euro fine for 'smoking in the room,' even though no one in our party smoked at all. When we questioned this, the front desk repeatedly refused to provide any valid evidence. When we asked for more information, the staff member claimed they 'couldn't do anything' and simply handed us a business card, telling us to complain via email. It was only after our persistent demands that they reluctantly printed out a close-up photo of a cigarette butt. However, this photo lacked any room number, timestamp, or any other information that could prove the cigarette butt came from our room. Since the hotel couldn't explain the photo's origin, I can only reasonably assume three possibilities: either the cigarette butt was planted during the post-checkout inspection; someone entered our room and smoked while we were out; or the cigarette butt actually belonged to another room. Eventually, another staff member inspected the room and confirmed there was no smoke smell, promising to waive the charge. The hotel's practice of levying charges without sufficient evidence and failing to provide clear explanations when questioned is deeply disappointing. If the hotel ultimately processes the refund, I will update this review with the outcome.
