I was incredibly satisfied with every aspect of the hotel. 😊 As I prepare to leave beautiful Bangkok, a city of contrasts, much like the ever-flowing universe – constantly absorbing the joys, sorrows, and everything in between from the vast world, enriching us in return. My heartfelt thanks to the hotel butler for their exceptional service; both my son Chan-chan and I were absolutely delighted. To be honest, our trip to Bangkok wasn't as smooth as I'd imagined, but thankfully, everything worked out in the end. I'm also grateful to my fitness coach for accompanying me throughout the trip to Thailand, helping alleviate travel fatigue and ensuring my safety. Every morning, we'd wake up slowly amidst love and positive energy, exchanging good mornings. But for some reason, the moment the sun set, a profound weariness would suddenly wash over us. We'd then go to sleep filled with resentment, after arguments and quarrels. The next morning, as the sun shone by the Chao Phraya River, I'd regret my actions from the night before, wishing I hadn't been so short-tempered or said things that hurt his pride. And in that very moment, oh God! I realized this is karma, this is fate. Repeating the past day after day, waking up with an optimistic mindset, only to go to sleep complaining and angry. The second and third days were much the same, a cycle I couldn't break free from. Luckily, Chan-chan was always there to encourage me to overcome my inner demons. I also prayed for divine help, but the gloom was like a persistent shadow, hard to shake off completely. Finally, thanks again to Trip.com for the recommendation. And a special thanks to my precious son for his help. He's lived in Southeast Asia for years and took care of everything for me. We arrived in Bangkok via Thai Airways, and as soon as we disembarked, we saw lovely staff members whisking us to the immigration hall in a golf cart. The immigration officers processed all our documents in mere seconds.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel truly lived up to its reputation! ✨ Time seemed to slow down, and we were even ferried across the Chao Phraya River to the department store on the opposite bank by the hotel's boat. The night view was even more stunning! 💓 Although we didn't have a reservation, we were still able to enjoy afternoon tea. We definitely want to visit again. Next time, I'd love to stay longer and fully relax! ✨

Overall, I'm satisfied. It's a standard city luxury hotel, though the Chao Phraya River view is just average, and the sewage treatment could be better. The hotel's biggest advantage is its proximity to the mall, but honestly, it's not as good for browsing as the top-tier malls in first-tier Chinese cities (at least, in my opinion, it doesn't compare to MixC Shenzhen Bay or MixC Shenzhen). The ground floor is decent for photos, but considering how many great photo spots there are in Bangkok, it's not particularly 'Instagrammable.' Regarding service, the butler on the first day was incredibly slow to respond. The following two days were better. Compared to a resort hotel, there's not much 'service' to speak of, but for a city hotel, it's acceptable.

Traveling as a couple. **Facilities:** The overall environment is visibly dated, and the elevators are crowded. The floor surfaces are covered in many dirty stains, perhaps due to age. **Hygiene:** What's truly shocking is how poor the ventilation in the room's bathroom was. **Ambiance:** The design is stylish, and the materials used are solid, but the attention to detail truly falls short compared to other hotels in the same price range. **Service:** The staff here seems rather unfriendly towards Chinese tourists. We arrived at 2 PM for a 3 PM check-in and, despite clearly communicating our early arrival, were given one of the lowest floors. After questioning the room number on the spot, they then changed their story, saying there were no other rooms of the same type available and all other guests had already checked in. The waiting time kept changing as well, from 'hopefully before 3 PM' to 'at 3 PM,' then '3:30 PM,' and finally 'we can't give you a definite time.' We only got our room at 3:20 PM after contacting Trip.com customer service. Meanwhile, Caucasian guests checking in at the same time received their room cards earlier than us. We had to repeatedly urge them, and it seemed only by contacting the platform could we get a room in a timely manner. (They then apologized with a bottle of cheap red wine in the room.) **Spa:** The quality is severely mismatched with the price; it's practically ruining the hotel's reputation. Compared to the Andaz spa we had two days prior in Pattaya, the Mandarin Oriental's spa was frankly subpar. It felt like a slightly fancier 'Thai massage' place, with no real service. Communication was formulaic, and even when we mentioned tired areas, they were barely addressed. When we reported this issue at checkout, the manager simply gave us a phone number and told us to contact the spa ourselves 😂 – that's a baffling move I've never encountered before. **Dining:** For a Mandarin Oriental, the food was a mess. The breakfast selection was similar to that of a regular five-star hotel in China, completely lacking local character. We tried Salarim Naam, a five-course Thai meal advertised with traditional Thai performances, and it was so bad it was inedible. We literally took one bite of everything and had to leave to find Thai food at the nearby ICONSIAM. Looking at reviews for this restaurant on Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform), it's clear they're fake. This so-called 'best Mandarin Oriental in Asia' truly lives up to its reputation (in a sarcastic way). Chinese travelers should choose with caution.

Let me point out a few negatives: 1. I was on the third floor, and there was construction next door, which blocked the view! 2. The deposit refund is incredibly slow; it's been 4 days since I checked out, and I still haven't received it. 3. The soundproofing between floors isn't great, so noise from upstairs can easily disturb your rest.

A historic hotel with excellent service and pleasant surprises! This hotel is steeped in history, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with many special limited-edition items, including apparel, food, and souvenirs. The hotel's location truly embraces the canal theme, offering convenient and charming boat shuttle services to its private pier. The service here is incredibly detailed. We expressed interest in the hotel's history and culture, and they kindly arranged for a staff member to give us a guided tour and explanation. On our check-in day, we received a cake because I was celebrating my birthday in Thailand. The birthday wishes arrived even before my actual birthday, complete with a handwritten card and a delicious chocolate mousse cake. It was lovely to see staff members, especially in the lobby, who remembered and warmly greeted us, even if they had only served us once before. Later that evening, when we went for a drink at the Bamboo Bar, the singer even came over specifically to sing me a birthday song! The next day, I visited the spa and received another thoughtful card, well wishes, and an adorable little cake – it was incredibly heartwarming. Every day, the housekeeping staff would meticulously fold our clothes and organize them neatly, which was a delightful touch.
