JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The location is great, with plenty of shops and restaurants downstairs, but the hygiene is seriously concerning. I only gave it 0.50 points. Let me tell you about my experience: I checked in smoothly in the afternoon, and the front desk staff, a Malaysian Chinese girl, had excellent service. We stayed in a twin room, and while resting, I kept smelling a strong foot odor. I blamed my husband and told him to wash his feet. Even after he washed them, the strong foot odor persisted. Upon closer inspection, I realized the smell was coming from the pillow. It seems the previous guest used the pillow as a footrest, and the housekeeping staff didn't change the pillowcases when cleaning the room, causing the awful stench to linger. The staff are incredibly lazy; how could Marriott hire such negligent people?

The hotel is great, just across the road from Pavilion. The service is excellent, especially the front desk. I chatted with a very friendly lady at the front desk for a bit, and she gave me a room on the 26th floor. I'm so sorry I didn't catch her name.

The room itself was fine, but the soundproofing was terrible. The foreigners next door were probably having a wild time and were incredibly loud at 3 AM. The hotel did offer compensation. If you're planning to stay, make sure to request a room that isn't a connecting room.

Avoid this place! Avoid! Avoid! Other than a good location for shopping, it has nothing going for it! And precisely because of its convenient shopping location, it's incredibly, incredibly congested. It's still incredibly jammed even at 10 PM. You can't stop in front of the hotel, so getting a taxi is impossible! 1) Breakfast: Too many Indian people in the hotel. Over half the food is Indian cuisine, and there's nothing else good to eat. Everything is terrible, even the coffee is awful! There were mold spots on the bread, which was horrifying! And the cutlery had stains! 2) Room: The bedding had various small stains, was saggy and soft. The towels were old and worn, the toilet didn't flush well, and the mini-fridge didn't cool – it was warmer than the room temperature… The room's Wi-Fi was incredibly, incredibly slow, practically useless as shown in the picture, so I had to use my own data… And there was no bottled water! They used reusable glass bottles with refilled water! Of course, my child had diarrhea in the middle of the night. I don't know if it was related to this water! Just thinking about Indian people drinking from those bottles, then they're simply washed and refilled with water, it's horrifying! 3) Most importantly: They are extremely unfriendly to Chinese guests and gave us a terrible, terrible room! I specifically requested a quiet room, but they gave us a room directly facing the corridor and overlooking the street! And it was a connecting room! Then, between 2-4 AM, there was a strange roaring sound from downstairs (not a motorcycle) in this room. My child had diarrhea, so we didn't sleep all night. In the morning, I wanted to rest a bit, and just as I fell asleep, I was woken up at 8 AM by another kind of incredibly loud noise, occurring every ten minutes, lasting 30 seconds each time. I only managed to groggily record the end of it, as shown. In summary: A thoroughly terrible stay! From every aspect, it's not a Chinese-preferred hotel! It's an Indian-preferred hotel! Avoid at all costs!
