Hostal Restaurante Puerta del Alcázar

The facilities were old, the bathroom was full of mold, and the room smelled of smoke. However, the guy at the front desk and in the cafe was absolutely lovely. Recommendation: Use mold killer to remove the mold from the walls, the bathroom window, and the shower.

Aside from the good location, I didn't like anything else. In particular, breakfast was too late, at 8:30 am, the soundproofing was very poor, the rooms were small and cramped, and there was no elevator.

Better than expected based on the reviews. The hostel is old but renovated, though not to the highest standard. It's clean, has an excellent location, and is very easy to get in and out of. There's usually no one at reception. The breakfast isn't good: weak coffee, bottled juice, and bread or a pastry. The rooms have no soundproofing, and you can hear absolutely everything. The heating is too high. The mattresses are mediocre, and the room is small. For a discounted night, it's sufficient.

The location is perfect, and the service was good too. It's perfect for a one or two night stay.

The hotel check-in time was too late. When I checked out at 8am, there was no one there, and I had trouble opening one of the two doors. When I asked them to book a taxi the day before, they readily agreed. The shampoo and body wash were in one bottle. The shower had plenty of hot water.

The receptionist was generally good, the waitresses during breakfast, not so much.

The hotel is very well located, right across from the city walls. For a two-star hotel, they have a very good breakfast. The only drawback was that we were given a room behind the reception (I understand it's for disabled guests), and the bathroom had a window overlooking the restaurant. Although the glass was frosted, when the light was on, you could see right into the room. It would be good if they could fix that. But otherwise, and I repeat, for a two-star hotel, it more than met our expectations.
