Not your standard hotel. No. It your below average standards hotel. No slippers. No complimentary water in rooms, even upon arrival. Cheap quality toiletries made in China. No turn down service which means it takes so much effort to remove the huge ‘Harris Tweed’ bed cover. Worst hotel toilet I’ve ever used. And to make things worse the rooms are so noisy at night being across the train station the hotel actually provides ear plugs which still do not block out the sound and are of cheap quality. Perhaps better window soundproofing is needed. You can’t use the hairdryer in the bathroom because there is zero electrical outlets which means you can’t blow dry your hair without disturbing whoever else is in the room. Front desk reception was really annoying as well because he tried to upsell me to a higher level room even though we already booked The King of Kings Room. Why? Location is also average even though it is easy access to the airport. But to other London locations it’s a long long Underground ride. On the plus side, the lighting and air conditioning system is very nice, dimmable and very ambient. The bathtub is deep and comfortable. The building is very aesthetic from the outside. The room is designed well. Overall this is not a very convenient or luxurious experience as far as hotel stays go and would not recommend anyone who wants to have a five star hotel level experience to stay at The below Standard.

The location is fantastic, situated right next to St. Pancras Station, which offers incredible convenience for travelers. The proximity to the station also provides amazing views, especially of the stunning architecture of St. Pancras. The hotel staff were exceptionally nice and welcoming, making the check-in and overall stay pleasant. They were always ready to assist with any queries and provided excellent service throughout my visit. The rooms are well-designed and comfortable, although I found the tone to be a bit on the darker side. This might be a matter of personal preference, but it did add a unique, cozy atmosphere to the room. Overall, The Standard Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a convenient and stylish place to stay in London. The prime location, beautiful views, and friendly staff make it a standout option.
