The room and toilet were clean, and the male front desk staff I met on the first day was friendly. Unfortunately, everything went downhill after that.
From the second day onwards, the air conditioner could NOT be turned off. We tried everything even taking out the room card, but the air conditioning was still running. We had a packed schedule every day so honestly, we were too exhausted to keep dealing with it. In the end, we just gave up and slept in an insanely cold room. 🥶
But what REALLY annoyed me was the attitude of the female front desk staff on the day we checked out.
We left our room around 12:15 PM and returned the room card at the front desk around 12:20 PM. Then she suddenly said, “You know the check-out time is 12 PM, right? You were supposed to check out on time. But today I won’t charge you.”
Excuse me??? 😐
We were literally 20 minutes late, not checking out at 1 PM or hours late. And when we left the room, there wasn’t even a cleaner waiting outside or anyone telling us we were holding up the room.
I genuinely don’t understand why this needed to be brought up in such a condescending way. We are paying customers, not kindergarten students who need to be lectured about being late. If there’s an issue with the check-out time, you can simply remind us politely. There was absolutely no need for the “but today I won’t charge you” attitude, as if you were doing us some huge favour.
A hotel stay can have small issues, but the way staff communicate with guests matters a lot. The room itself was clean, but the experience with the staff on the last day really left a bad impression.
