Shana Hôtel et Résidence, The Originals Relais

We booked a 2 room apartment at the Shana Hotel for a week at the end of May. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Violine on reception. Our apartment was very roomy and clean with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool which had been opened early due to the warm weather. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils and washing up liquid and tea towels were provided. The king size double bed was very comfortable. We only ate the buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant on our first morning as we decided to self cater for the remainder of our stay. No cooked food was available for breakfast. Evening meals were available in the restaurant but were bought in to order. The hotel is in a beautiful location close to the river Rhone and Chanaz village. Bike hire is available from the hotel and kayaks, canoes and motor boats can be hired in Canaz on the banks of the Canal de Savieres. Chanaz is a very picturesque village with a number of restaurants and a boulangerie. Boat cruises leave from Chanaz daily and sail down the Canal de Savieres to the Lac du Bourget. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Shana Hotel and Residence.

The Velo Accueil system is really understood here. Safe storage, pump, comprehensive breakfast all available at a reasonable price . The receptionist and her team, was multilingual, super friendly, understood the cycling experience and organised dinner on a Monday. Large, airy clean room with a great shower. Quiet and dark at night. Big breakfast, good coffee, friendly approach. Really enjoyed my stay here. A 5 star experience.
