The hotel is nice and in a good location but I had to wait 2 hours for my room. Additionally even if I asked for a non smoking room, mine was smelling really badly of smoke. I appreciated the apologies but not enough for the level of the hotel.

First off, the location is absolutely fantastic, right in the Lujiazui area. You can see the Shanghai Tower from the room, and the night view is stunning. The breakfast buffet is pretty good too, with all the usual items. The decor isn't outdated either.

First of all, a big thank you to Lily for thoughtfully upgrading our room for my family of three. This is a hidden gem of a hotel with an old-money charm. The hallway carpets are soft, there's no smoke smell, and while the decor shows its age a bit, it's still very tasteful and well-maintained. The soundproofing between rooms is excellent, and the breakfast ingredients are clearly chosen with care. The location is fantastic; west and north-facing rooms offer views of the 'Three-Piece Suit' (Lujiazui skyline). It's conveniently located next to the Century Link shopping complex for easy dining and shopping, yet also borders a residential area for a taste of local life. With four metro lines converging at Century Avenue, getting anywhere is incredibly easy. The staff are well-trained. I called housekeeping for water, forgetting I had pressed the 'do not disturb' button. The staff member didn't knock upon arrival at my door; instead, they politely called me before delivering it. There are many dining options nearby, and Shanghai has plenty of delicious food. Delivery services from supermarkets are also readily available, making life very convenient.
