The hotel appears to be newly opened—immaculately clean and staffed by exceptionally friendly, welcoming people. The lobby offers a wide selection of teas, and I filled up a thermos every day to take with me. It’s directly across from a shopping mall, just a short distance from the historic old town, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby.

I really loved the room's setup and cozy vibe! It was super comfortable for a solo traveler, the environment was quiet, and the service was good too. My only dislikes were the lack of a smart toilet – I feel like most places have them now, right? 🥲 Also, the hairdryer wasn't great; it was heavy and didn't have much power, so it was hard to dry my hair. Both of these could definitely use an upgrade!!! Another suggestion I have is that after eating breakfast in the first-floor restaurant, my clothes smelled strongly of cooking oil, which needs to be improved.

My absolute go-to hotel whenever I visit Taiyuan, hands down. The service is consistently satisfying, thoughtful, and heartwarming, shining through many small details that make it reliable and excellent. The food is also great, featuring local specialties alongside star-rated standards—I highly recommend the hotel's wontons. Plus, the location is very convenient, making it easy to get anywhere. All in all, the best place to stay when visiting Taiyuan!

The entire hotel staff was excellent and very responsible. The hotel facilities were complete and comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and tidy. Breakfast was also rich and delicious; the knife-cut noodles were particularly good. The concierge service was also dedicated and efficient, and the delivery robot brought our takeout very promptly.

This kind of warm service is something you don't experience in other cities! InterContinental Taiyuan is fantastic and highly recommended!

The hotel facilities are complete, and the room layout is very well-designed. It has a separate walk-in closet, and the toilet and shower room are separate, both with their own sinks, which is very thoughtful. There's also a dedicated vanity table. The bed was just the right balance of soft and firm, and we could even choose our own pillows. Our whole family had an excellent rest!

As an IHG member, when I visited Taiyuan for the first time, I didn't hesitate to choose the InterContinental. My experience, however, was a mixed bag. On the positive side, the room facilities were well-maintained. The Bronze Museum was just across the street from the hotel, and the riverside environment was also pleasant. For improvement, I arrived at the front desk around 12 PM, and was told that only one of my two rooms was ready, and the other was still being cleaned. I accepted this and went for lunch. An hour later, the second room still wasn't ready. Fortunately, a helpful guy at the front desk managed to sort it out, which was a great effort. What I want to say is that other five-star hotels in the industry usually have a guest services center or someone who contacts you beforehand to ask about your estimated arrival time and any special requests. While not a must-have, it's a bonus if they do, and a drawback if they don't when others do. Ironically, less than two hours after checking out, I received a call asking if I had any complaints. At that point, what more could I say?

My stay at InterContinental Taiyuan was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, right next to the Fen River and MixC shopping mall, making it incredibly convenient for both business and leisure travelers. The room was spacious and bright, with elegant decor, comfortable bedding, and excellent soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were professional and enthusiastic, providing the quality and meticulous service you'd expect from the InterContinental brand from check-in to check-out. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a great mix of Chinese and Western options, and the quality was top-notch. The overall environment is high-end and comfortable, with attention to detail evident throughout. This is definitely a highly recommended five-star hotel in Taiyuan, and I'll certainly choose to stay here again next time!
