Excellent Riad in the heart of the medina within easy walking distance to the port, beach and shopping areas. Staff are warm, welcoming and keen to ensure your stay is the very best. The breakfast is plentiful and great quality. Highly recommend this riad and we are already planning our next trip!

We had just two nights here. We found the riad well located, in the medina but not the thick of it and easy to find from the nearest gate. The welcome was warm and genuine from the lovely staff. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our private balcony with fresh flowers. Breakfast was great, one of the best if our 3 week stay. The only minor issue was noise from the adjoining alley, primarily motorbikes, til late in the evening, was clearly audible. I'd expect this to be a problem in most medina accommodation options though. It's a small price for staying centrally.

Nice place, good location, good price. However it is on a moped / scooter abused road so can be noisy and dangerous (young men are always in a hurry and transport nothing other than ego). Breakfast was nice, egg in tajine. I have to write more so I am.

We had a wonderful stay here! The breakfast was absolutely great, we received an ultra friendly welcome, the room was super cozy, clean and comfortable. This riad is really worth it and highly recommended! The location is very good, close to a parking lot for those who come by car. We will come back with pleasure!

Our stay at the Dar Awil Essaouira was our best and cleanest experience in Morocco. The host Alvie was fantastic and made us feel at home. His advice and local knowledge was invaluable and he did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The RIAD was beautifully decorated with sophisticated Moroccan and European influences with a fine eye for detail. Our bed was extremely comfortable and dressed with quality linens and the room was alway filled with the sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shore a short distance away. Soaps and Shampoos and roses were changed daily. The staff were very professional and we loved watching our 6 course breakfast cooked in front of us each morning, while relaxing orchestral music played in the background. This banquet was always cooked to perfection by the in-house chef and was served by candlelight. We loved drinking our wine on our private balcony in the late afternoon with a garden view and the chorus of seagulls in the distance. We enjoyed our stay so much we rebooked again 10/10.

We had a double en-suite room with balcony, very peaceful and quiet once inside, felt very private and safe. Linens were super clean and refreshed daily. Beautiful breakfasts made with love and care each morning. Our hosts were kind and enthusiastic and keen to make all guests welcome. We felt very privileged to stay in such an inviting and homely space. Highly recommended as location was great and there are lots of restaurants and hammams close by. We also caught the Supratours bus to Marrakesh which was a 5 minute walk from the Riad.

Quel plaisir de retrouver Essaouira et séjourner de nouveau au Dar Awil. Ce riad est toujours aussi agréable : acceuil attentionné de Omar, propreté irreprochable et confort. Emplacement idéal dans la médina et proche de la plage .
