Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen

Our stay at the Futian Shangri-La was excellent. The hotel offers first-class facilities and service, with outstanding value for money. The location is excellent, right in the centre of Shenzhen, with several metro lines and Futian High-Speed Railway Station within walking distance. It is particularly convenient for travelling to Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Our room was very spacious, with a separate living area, pleasant décor, and everything in excellent condition. The bed was slightly firmer than we would have preferred, although still comfortable, and the pillows were excellent. The soundproofing was also outstanding, with no noise from neighbouring rooms. The cleanliness was impeccable, with exceptional attention to detail. Everything was spotless, including the windows, which didn’t have a single mark. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and flexible, cleaning our room even late in the afternoon. Check-in was extremely quick. We loved the hotel’s facilities, especially the gym and swimming pool. The gym has a wide variety of equipment, while the pool area includes a sauna, steam room, hot tubs, a cold plunge pool, and different types of showers. Everything is very well maintained, with comfortable temperatures and very few people using the facilities. Breakfast offers an enormous variety of options and is served in a beautifully decorated dining room. The staff manage the seating arrangements very efficiently, and we particularly appreciated one staff member who spoke excellent English and was always attentive to the details. During the weekend, we had to queue to enter, although the line moved faster than we initially expected. We also had dinner at Shang Garden, the hotel’s Michelin-recognised restaurant, and the experience was exceptional. We loved every dish, especially the sea cucumber, which came with a delicious sauce. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel for its location, quality of facilities, attentive staff, and excellent value for money.

Hotel is located next door to the railway station where trains from Hong Kong arrive which was very convenient. We enjoyed light show on the Ping An Tower directly from the hotel room! That was a great surprise.
