Hotel Tirreno

Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Tirreno during our Rome trip. The room is quite basic and not particularly spacious, but it was clean and comfortable enough for resting after a full day of sightseeing. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. Many attractions such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore can be reached on foot. Termini Station is also within walking distance. If you're looking for a practical place to sleep and spend most of your time exploring Rome, this hotel offers good value for its location.

The location is unbeatable, walking distance to Termini train station , and to all iconic places in Rome . A lot of local food choices around . The area is pretty safe and convenient for tourists . The hotel is quiet old , so all the interiors match it’s old age . No modern furnitures or appliances. There is an elevator and a mini garden . The AC works in the room . We chose this hotel due to last min booking availability and its affordability. The hotel has complimentary breakfast running from 7-9:30 , even though same food every morning ,we indeed have enjoyed boiled eggs , yogurt , coffee and pastries. The staff are attentive and very responsible .

We were extremely happy with our stay. It felt like a genuine family-run business, and everyone we met was incredibly warm and kind. Combined with the highly convenient location and the excellent Sichuan restaurant just a few metres away, it was a superb experience. To those complaining about the state of the hotel, the rooms, or the facilities, I will say this: if the hotel were upgraded to meet your expectations, the room rates would easily jump by 50% or more. Would you genuinely be willing to pay that? It offers outstanding value for money exactly as it is.

Old hotel, so it has its problems, but the staff are very friendly and helpful

The location is great and staff is nice.

The location is great as it’s a 10 min walk from termini station and about 30 mins from the main attractions but is close to metro links that will get you there quicker too. The rooms are very small but you get what you pay for. Beds aren’t the comfiest and the room can get quite stuffy at night (this was in Feb). Walls are very thin so you can hear people in the corridors, I had children screaming all late evening playing knock a door run and nothing was done about it. The staff were helpful but there was one staff member that I was quite uncomfortable with. They picked up that I was on my own staying there and asked me to go for a drink whilst I was checking in, I said no, then proceeded to tell me they’d use my number from the file to WhatsApp me which is not on at all! I also didn’t like that the room key has to be handed in every time you left as there weren’t any checks when you picked them up again so anyone could have used it.

The hotel was in a convenient location and easy to find. However, the surrounding area looked a bit rough, and I occasionally felt uneasy walking back at night. The room itself was clean and had air conditioning, which was a big plus for the summer heat. I booked a single room so I guess that’s why the room is small. The bathroom and toilet were extremely tight, someone larger might struggle to use the shower comfortably. Breakfast was a simple selection, but it was sufficient to start the day. The hotel staff were friendly and eager to help.
