The Kayon Valley Resort Ubud (Adult Only)

My husband and I traveled here for our honeymoon, and when we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they beautifully decorated our room. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful! They greeted us warmly every time we passed by, and the pool and jacuzzi were fantastic! We had a short trip with lots we wanted to do, so we couldn't fully enjoy all the resort had to offer, but Ubud was wonderful largely because of this resort! If I visit Ubud again, I'd love to stay here. Staying here also grants you free access to The Kayon Jungle Resort's pool, which was an amazing bonus! All in all, I was extremely satisfied with the location, service, and facilities. Highly recommend!

Had an excellent stay. It was clean and relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious, the views were stunning, and the villas were spacious.

1. **Location (Airport > Accommodation)** - It takes approximately 2 hours to get here from the airport, and also about 2 hours if you're coming from Seminyak. Ubud is a very large area with many old tourist attractions and 5-star resorts, so you need to factor in travel times carefully. There's nothing around the resort. If you want to rent a motorbike, you can do so at the first guesthouse on your right after exiting the main gate. Most nearby attractions are within 30-40 minutes of the resort. (The elderly couple who run the guesthouse are incredibly kind. It's 100k for a day rental, which is very cheap.) 2. **Accommodation** * **Pros:** Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy the natural scenery in a charming way. (It's a private pool villa, so it's great for relaxing with a beer, swimming in your own space, and enjoying the view at your leisure.) * **Cons:** As it's a jungle resort, it's not recommended for those sensitive to insects, monkeys, or mosquitoes! Also, getting from Ubud to other tourist spots takes a long time, so you'll need to book transfers the day before and leave early in the morning. e.g., Ubud > Lempuyang Temple (Depart at 4 AM > First entry at 6 AM / approx. 2 hours travel time) 3. **Breakfast** - It's not a buffet; you choose what you want to eat, and the taste is pretty good. (Surprisingly, it's less salty and less sweet than expected.) The staff are very friendly and take good care of everything. However, please check that your room master card is working properly. (If you're eating outside your room, make sure to clear everything away and leave it by the door! Otherwise, you might get an insect invasion the next day. Monkeys sometimes appear in the morning, so say hello if you see one.) Please note that airport transfers are not available. (Requesting a Grab from the resort to the airport costs 800k, which is too expensive.) As it's a sister property to Jungle Resort, you can use their 3-tiered swimming pool, but it's quite far, so I recommend leaving early in the morning. * Valley > Jungle (30-40 minutes by motorbike / 40 minutes by Grab, which is expensive) * Valley > Airport (Grab is 300-350k / If you request a Grab, they usually cancel and then try to negotiate the price, but 350k is generally a fair deal.) Overall, it's not bad, but it's also hard to consider it a 5-star resort. However, for its charming atmosphere, it's top-notch, and I highly recommend it unless you're very sensitive to insects. - The floating breakfast is quite expensive, so it's best to think carefully and request it a day in advance, but there are a lot of bugs...

So friendly and clean, and the view is absolutely stunning, making you want to stay longer. The massage was superb, and the food was excellent. The night view is a work of art itself.

The staff were all so friendly and the view is absolutely stunning! I heard Bali's waters were dirty, but it's crystal clear here – just like a filter. Oh, and the restaurant inside is incredibly delicious too!
