【Overall Impression】This hotel has a 'Nanyang' (Southeast Asian) flair with local snacks and drinks. The toiletries are Byredo and include lotion (there's a store on the first basement floor of MixC). I remember them being La Bottega previously? The hotel boasts a gym, outdoor pool, Nanyang-themed craft activities, photo spots, a lobby bar, happy hour, and more – quite a rich selection of amenities. MixC is right next door, perfect for shopping, catching a movie, or letting the kids burn off some energy, making it a great option for a staycation. If your budget allows, I’d generally recommend it. 【Service】The service remains excellent overall. 1. The front desk staff was very kind and upgraded us to a higher floor room with a better view. 2. Whether it was the front desk, lobby bar, lounge, 101 restaurant, gym (24-hour access with room card), or the pool (perfect temperature, though it's outdoors)… everyone we encountered was incredibly observant – they’d press the elevator for you in advance, offer directions, or ask if you needed help if you had a lot of things in your hands. It’s impressive that the entire team maintained this quality during the busy summer period. 3. What surprised me most was that when I booked, the Nanyang craft class was fully booked. I was a bit disappointed, but the staff provided us with the materials so we could do it ourselves in the room, even though we couldn't do it on-site. Their problem-solving attitude and approach really impressed me. 4. They promptly refilled items that ran out at breakfast, which was a vast improvement compared to some previous experiences where things felt a bit stingy. 【Ambiance】1. It's very photogenic and well-designed; you could spend a long time taking photos without even leaving the hotel. So, individuality and unique design are quite important. 2. Once the curtains in the room are drawn, it gets perfectly dark, which is great for sleeping. 【Dining】1. Perhaps due to cost control, the items in the room's minibar have changed (it used to have Basao tea, was that a limited-time offering?). The offerings at the lobby bar and happy hour have also become fewer and simpler, but the quality is still decent… 2. The breakfast at 101 restaurant felt less appealing than before… The Shacha noodle soup base tasted like laksa, and the noodle texture was off. What was clearly mini wontons was called 'bianshi', and the peanut soup only had the raw ingredients but the taste and texture weren't quite right. The mianxian糊 (vermicelli paste) texture was also off, which made me not even want to try the salty rice. And while the oyster omelet and 'manjian gao' (pancakes) tasted okay, they weren't actually what they were supposed to be… (Fortunately, there are alternatives like Shacha noodle shops, snack bars, and street food stalls nearby)… If I hadn't eaten out before, these 'specialty snacks' at breakfast would have been very misleading… 3. To be fair, the Western-style offerings were all good – bread, desserts, etc. 4. There were small bugs in the restaurant; I encountered one right after sitting down, and then another flew into my mini wontons when I went to get them later… 【Other】1. I hope the breakfast specialty snacks can be improved. 2. I wish the dishes and their names would match (some dish names on the labels lagged behind after changes. It felt a bit awkward seeing someone holding 'curry puffs' and telling their child it was 'wuxiang' (five-spice fritters); the chicken popcorn at happy hour was labeled as something else, though it was corrected later). 3. My friend arrived at breakfast first, and I joined later. I was questioned a bit upon entry, and then followed to my friend’s table before they left, which made me feel untrusted… Had someone tried to sneak in for free breakfast before? 4. On Ctrip, a 5 is 'exceeded expectations,' 4.5 is 'satisfied,' and 4 is 'quite satisfied.' I feel that anything 4.25 or above is pretty good… Unfortunately, everyone is so competitive these days, and I understand the difficulties faced by those in the industry. I gave a score I thought was quite good before, only to find out it caused trouble for others… Now, if there are no major issues, I just give a supportive 5 stars…

Exceeded my expectations, I'll definitely choose Andaz again next time! The location is superb, right in the city center of the island, making it super convenient for subways and taxis. Everything you need for dining, entertainment, and shopping is right there, so you don't waste time commuting – perfect for lazy travelers. The service from check-in to check-out was impeccable; all the staff were enthusiastic and thoughtful, especially Claire, who was professional and meticulous throughout. We opted to dine at the hotel for dinner; the Peking duck needs to be pre-ordered, as it's roasted fresh in an open oven, and it's definitely worth trying. The hotel itself perfectly blends Nanyang retro charm with modern chic. Every photo you take looks like a high-quality shot, and my friend and I could easily spend a whole day here without going out, especially to avoid the sun. They even had handicraft activities during the summer; I hope to experience them next time!

All the staff would bow or nod in greeting whenever they saw me. Check-in is on the L floor. As soon as I arrived on the first floor with my luggage, it was taken by the concierge. By the time I checked in and got to my room, my bags were already there. The handover was seamless, and it was a huge relief, especially since I had a very heavy suitcase. I stayed for three consecutive nights. The first night's room was right next to the elevator, which was quite noisy, and the air conditioning wasn't cooling properly. For the subsequent two nights, I was upgraded to a 270-degree view room, which was a significant improvement – the comfort level was elevated by more than just one grade, and the views were fantastic. Breakfast in the restaurant was a combination of à la carte and buffet, and the food was delicious! The overnight oats were particularly good! There were also some Xiamen-specific dishes worth recommending, like 'mianxianhu' (vermicelli paste) and 'shacha mian' (satay noodles), which tasted pretty good. I also tried room service, and the process was smooth. One thing to note is that the direct elevator from the hotel to the B2 parking lot requires passing through an automatic door, which only opens at 6:30 AM. One morning, I needed to leave early to catch the sunrise. When I got to the first floor, there wasn't a single staff member around. The guy directing traffic outside the door didn't know about it but seemed genuinely trying to help me. With the automatic door shut, I tried using the lobby elevator on the first floor, but it only went to B2M. As time was tight, I had to go back to the L floor to ask the front desk. They contacted the first-floor concierge, and only then did a staff member come out. I can understand that night shifts can be tough, and there might be a slight lapse in vigilance when customer traffic is low. During the day, there are many guests coming and going, and the concierge staff are very busy, but they still maintain their professionalism, which is commendable. The hotel also offers travel photography services for guests, but unfortunately, my schedule didn't allow for it this time. I also didn't get a chance to use the gym and pool. I hope to experience them on my next visit to Xiamen.

I stayed for four nights in a row. The hotel's location is excellent, with long-standing famous eateries right outside. The first floor connects directly to MixC, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The hotel breakfast is high-quality, and they even offered a complimentary travel photoshoot for guests. The hotel's decor style is perfect for photos, and the photographer was experienced, capturing some great shots.

Really loved the hotel's decor, it has a very distinct Nanyang (Southeast Asian) charm! Every corner is beautiful, so I immediately booked a photo shoot with the hotel. The photographer was very patient during the shoot, making sure to capture every corner and guiding us throughout the whole process. The hotel room was also great and very comfortable. I was originally staying for two nights, but ended up extending for another night! Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Special commendation for Felix at the Andaz Xiamen's front desk. His service was professional and meticulous, and he was warm and courteous. Check-in was smooth and efficient upon arrival. When I requested a room type change, he actively communicated and handled it quickly, responding very promptly. He thoughtfully informed me of the hotel's various benefits and offered practical local sightseeing advice based on my itinerary, showing great attention to detail. The hotel's Nanyang-style environment is elegant, and its location is excellent, with direct access to MixC. Both the facilities and services are top-notch. All the hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. The lobby decoration is beautiful, with many fresh flowers. Thanks to Felix's excellent service, my entire stay far exceeded expectations. I will definitely choose this hotel again on future visits to Xiamen and highly recommend it to other travelers coming to the city.

📍Andaz Xiamen | Family Room My husband and I stayed at the Andaz Xiamen in 2021 or 2022, shortly after it opened, and it was quite new and we were very satisfied with our stay. This time, traveling with our baby, we chose a family room, and the overall experience was excellent. The hotel's service details were spot-on, and the hotel exudes a full Nanyang retro vibe, with photo opportunities everywhere. It's perfect for taking pictures. The most pleasant surprise was the travel photography service included with our stay. The photographer was very patient and proactively guided our poses, avoiding stiff, forced shots and excelling at capturing a relaxed, natural feel. There was a rich selection of shooting locations, and the original photos had great quality. When we stayed before, this photography service wasn't available, but now it seems most hotels nationwide offer something similar, which is quite convenient. The breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and the taste was superb. Breakfast here is much better than at the Hyatt Centric Xiamen, several tiers above! If you're looking to effortlessly get great vacation photos in Xiamen, I highly recommend the Andaz Xiamen.
