Andaz Xiamen

【Overall Impression】This hotel has a 'Nanyang' (Southeast Asian) flair with local snacks and drinks. The toiletries are Byredo and include lotion (there's a store on the first basement floor of MixC). I remember them being La Bottega previously? The hotel boasts a gym, outdoor pool, Nanyang-themed craft activities, photo spots, a lobby bar, happy hour, and more – quite a rich selection of amenities. MixC is right next door, perfect for shopping, catching a movie, or letting the kids burn off some energy, making it a great option for a staycation. If your budget allows, I’d generally recommend it. 【Service】The service remains excellent overall. 1. The front desk staff was very kind and upgraded us to a higher floor room with a better view. 2. Whether it was the front desk, lobby bar, lounge, 101 restaurant, gym (24-hour access with room card), or the pool (perfect temperature, though it's outdoors)… everyone we encountered was incredibly observant – they’d press the elevator for you in advance, offer directions, or ask if you needed help if you had a lot of things in your hands. It’s impressive that the entire team maintained this quality during the busy summer period. 3. What surprised me most was that when I booked, the Nanyang craft class was fully booked. I was a bit disappointed, but the staff provided us with the materials so we could do it ourselves in the room, even though we couldn't do it on-site. Their problem-solving attitude and approach really impressed me. 4. They promptly refilled items that ran out at breakfast, which was a vast improvement compared to some previous experiences where things felt a bit stingy. 【Ambiance】1. It's very photogenic and well-designed; you could spend a long time taking photos without even leaving the hotel. So, individuality and unique design are quite important. 2. Once the curtains in the room are drawn, it gets perfectly dark, which is great for sleeping. 【Dining】1. Perhaps due to cost control, the items in the room's minibar have changed (it used to have Basao tea, was that a limited-time offering?). The offerings at the lobby bar and happy hour have also become fewer and simpler, but the quality is still decent… 2. The breakfast at 101 restaurant felt less appealing than before… The Shacha noodle soup base tasted like laksa, and the noodle texture was off. What was clearly mini wontons was called 'bianshi', and the peanut soup only had the raw ingredients but the taste and texture weren't quite right. The mianxian糊 (vermicelli paste) texture was also off, which made me not even want to try the salty rice. And while the oyster omelet and 'manjian gao' (pancakes) tasted okay, they weren't actually what they were supposed to be… (Fortunately, there are alternatives like Shacha noodle shops, snack bars, and street food stalls nearby)… If I hadn't eaten out before, these 'specialty snacks' at breakfast would have been very misleading… 3. To be fair, the Western-style offerings were all good – bread, desserts, etc. 4. There were small bugs in the restaurant; I encountered one right after sitting down, and then another flew into my mini wontons when I went to get them later… 【Other】1. I hope the breakfast specialty snacks can be improved. 2. I wish the dishes and their names would match (some dish names on the labels lagged behind after changes. It felt a bit awkward seeing someone holding 'curry puffs' and telling their child it was 'wuxiang' (five-spice fritters); the chicken popcorn at happy hour was labeled as something else, though it was corrected later). 3. My friend arrived at breakfast first, and I joined later. I was questioned a bit upon entry, and then followed to my friend’s table before they left, which made me feel untrusted… Had someone tried to sneak in for free breakfast before? 4. On Ctrip, a 5 is 'exceeded expectations,' 4.5 is 'satisfied,' and 4 is 'quite satisfied.' I feel that anything 4.25 or above is pretty good… Unfortunately, everyone is so competitive these days, and I understand the difficulties faced by those in the industry. I gave a score I thought was quite good before, only to find out it caused trouble for others… Now, if there are no major issues, I just give a supportive 5 stars…

This is my top choice hotel when I come to Xiamen. The location is super convenient, right next to MixC shopping mall, which is great for browsing. The hotel is very clean and the service is good. My only complaint is that the breakfast is just so-so, not a lot of variety. This time I booked a package deal, but I didn't receive any welcome fruit. I'm not sure if they forgot or what happened. Overall, I'm still quite satisfied.

This was my second stay at the Andaz Xiamen, and as always, it was fantastic. The hotel's unique Nanyang style is truly refreshing. The rooms are clean and well-designed. While the semi-buffet breakfast doesn't offer a huge variety, the quality is top-notch. Ms. Joanna from customer service provided incredibly attentive and thoughtful service, making us feel right at home. My only regret is missing out on the complimentary afternoon tea due to a time conflict.

The Andaz Xiamen boasts an excellent location, right above the MixC mall, which is perfect for families with kids. The hotel itself is quite business-oriented, but the prime location makes up for it. The family room was spacious and even included a small extra bed, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was also good, with a wide variety of options. Given this unbeatable location, I'd definitely come back again!

I checked into your hotel on September 6th, and as a five-star international brand under the Hyatt group, I was deeply disappointed with my stay. Throughout my visit, the issues exposed in your hotel's service standards and attention to detail were significantly below what I expect from the 'Andaz' brand. Firstly, the concierge service was severely lacking, and the parking experience was abysmal. When I arrived at the hotel by car, the concierge staff at the entrance were indifferent and seemingly inexperienced. When I inquired about parking, the first concierge was dismissive, merely instructing me to 'turn right out the gate,' which was unclear and led to me failing to find the car park. Upon returning and asking another concierge, I was told that the surface parking was full and that I needed to drive around the MixC complex to enter the underground garage from the back. However, the signage within the MixC underground car park was extremely confusing, with many通道 blocked. I spent nearly 40 minutes navigating the car park, asking multiple people for directions and even driving against traffic several times, before finally locating the hotel's parking area. For a five-star hotel, such an inconvenient parking process is unfathomable. The normal standard operation should include clear valet parking options, or at the very least, detailed parking instructions with maps and visuals. Your current arrangement not only fails to provide convenience but also caused significant distress and potential traffic safety hazards for guests. Secondly, the welcome fruit in the room was of poor quality and had spoiled. After checking in and entering my room, I ate an apple provided by the hotel. After one bite (thankfully I didn't swallow it), I discovered it was rotten. While welcome fruit may seem like a small gesture, it is a basic service that reflects the hotel's care and attention to guests. The presence of 'rotten fruit' severely violates basic food safety requirements and greatly damages the guest's first impression of the hotel. Thirdly, the concierge staff exhibited 'favoritism' or snobbish behavior. When I went out in the evening, I noticed that the ground-level concierge staff at the entrance seemed to be selectively screening guest vehicles, choosing who to offer the scarce surface parking spots to. This behavior of differential treatment based on vehicle class or guest appearance, even if sometimes heard of in some high-end luxury establishments overseas, is extremely inappropriate and smacks of commercialism for a brand positioned like Andaz. This conduct not only undermines the principle of fair service but also made waiting guests feel offended. In summary, the three issues mentioned above – from chaotic traffic flow planning and a lack of basic quality control to inadequate staff training – all point to clear operational and management flaws in your hotel. I chose Andaz for its unique taste and reliable service as a high-end brand under Hyatt, but this experience clearly fell short.

An absolutely fantastic experience at Andaz Xiamen! The location is superb, with direct access to MixC Mall. The Nanyang retro-style design offers countless photo opportunities. The service is attentive, and they even offer a complimentary travel photography service, making it easy to capture stunning Nanyang-style photos and perfectly encapsulate your vacation memories. Definitely the top choice for a visit to Xiamen!

The room was incredibly spacious and beautiful. I'd rate its layout, design, and amenities as top-tier in Xiamen. It perfectly captures a charming Nanyang retro vibe. Special shout-out to our butler, Felix, who provided excellent service, was always quick to respond, and met all our needs. 100/100! 💯

This hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Xiamen Island, next to The MixC shopping mall. There's even a direct passage from the hotel to the mall. It's only a few hundred meters from Xiamen Station, and most attractions are just a 10-15 minute drive away. What's more, the area right below the hotel is packed with authentic and affordable local eateries. The hotel facilities are top-notch; the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the shower pressure is fantastic, making for a truly relaxing experience. The hotel's design has a wonderful Southeast Asian vibe, and you can get great photos just about anywhere. The breakfast is both delicious and features local specialties, especially the semi-buffet style which avoids the awkwardness of waiting in line for made-to-order items. The staff are all warm and professional. I especially want to commend Flora, who called ahead of our check-in to ask about our needs and proactively offered a late check-out on the day we left, allowing us to rest comfortably for a while longer before catching our train. This stay truly put a perfect ending to our Xiamen trip. I will definitely choose Andaz Xiamen again on my next visit.
