The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped with all the amenities. The service across the board was excellent. The Rose 1933 restaurant on the second floor was also quite good, with great service and delicious food.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel that has the art deco charm on the interior and lovely balcony design on the exterior. The room size is huge. Even though mine was on level 3 and the view was an indoor view, it was still nice to have natural light stream in during day time. Bath tub is massive but on the high side for short people to climb in and out, also feels not appropriate for elderly who may not be so mobile to get in and out of the bath tub. Room is kept clean by a friendly service staff on level 3. Also concierge service is excellent as I have deliveries that are collected by them, and they helped to bring my suitcase(s) to the room during check in and to the lobby during check out. There is a gym in site which I did not use but looks well equipped. Location is excellent as close to shopping area and yet not noisy. Opposite is the Metro station exit number 14 to easily catch a metro to go around Shanghai. I enjoyed staying here for my 6 nights in Shanghai.

The hotel's location is excellent; it's right outside People's Square Metro Station and only a 5-minute walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. It has a charming Old Shanghai vibe, perfect for photos. The breakfast was delicious, offering classic Shanghai flavors. The staff were polite and enthusiastic. I'll definitely be back to stay here again.

After all, it's an old Shanghai hotel, so the atmosphere is quite strong. The service was very thoughtful; they upgraded my room and even gave me fruit and a minibar. The location is unbeatable, with a subway station right outside the entrance. The bathroom had a slight odor, but the air freshener helped cover it.

I had an amazing stay at The Yangtze. I arrived early and was able to check in before the scheduled time which was really appreciated after travelling over 14 hours. Location: the hotel is very close to people square station, the bund and nanjing road. Amenities: received welcome drinks, fruits, a voucher to obtain dessert and a little box of chocolate. Breakfast had a good choice of traditional and western options. Cons: unable to adjust the temperature in the room and it felt very warm at times I would stay here again.

A very satisfying stay. The room was incredibly clean; even though it's an older hotel, it smelled fresh with no peculiar odors. The room facilities weren't outdated either, feeling quite high-quality. The service was excellent, with staff from the front desk to housekeeping being warm and attentive. The surrounding area has plenty of businesses, with a rich variety of Chinese and international restaurants and snacks. The hotel entrance is right at People's Square subway station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The only minor regret is that the classic red roses were replaced with pink ones. Personally, I think the red ones were more elegant and timeless.
