Great value for money hotel. Stayed here with my family ✨ and the service was very attentive. We booked a duplex family room this time; the space was quite adequate, with great ventilation and no stuffy odors in the room. The hotel has a great location, within walking distance to the South City Wall, Southeast Yi, and Shanhua Temple, with plenty of delicious food options nearby. The whole family had a comfortable and very satisfying stay this time.

The room hygiene was concerning, and the breakfast was just average! My main complaint is that the hotel is still under renovation, and the area in front of the hotel was terrible – this was not mentioned when I booked. The parking lot was a disaster! This is the worst hotel experience I've had in years of traveling. Must give a bad review!!

For those traveling to Datong who want to visit the main attractions, old streets, and enjoy the local cuisine in one go, this is a quite ideal place to stay. This hotel is different from some accommodations in the ancient city that retain traditional architectural features and have an old-fashioned residential feel. It's a more modernized hotel overall, so it lacks a bit of the historical atmosphere of living in an old house and experiencing ancient city life. If you're a traveler who particularly loves old houses, courtyards, and the spatial feel of traditional architecture, you might find it a bit lacking in character in this regard. However, if you consider it purely from the perspective of travel convenience, the location is indeed excellent. It's surrounded by the main restaurants, old streets, and attractions of Datong Ancient City, making dining, strolling, and shopping very convenient. You can also easily go out at night to experience the ancient city's evening atmosphere. Therefore, the biggest impression this stay left us with is that while the accommodation itself might lack some of the ancient city's old-house charm, its geographical location is a huge plus. If your main goal when traveling to Datong is to conveniently explore the ancient city, find good food, and stroll through old streets, this would be a very practical accommodation choice.

Upon entering the room, I noticed the hand towel was dirty, with red, blood-like stains. Initially, I just asked for it to be replaced. The next day, when I went to shower, I discovered the bath towel hanging on the bathroom door was also dirty (I hadn't noticed this on the first day as I didn't shower then). Having two dirty towels in one room is really unacceptable. Also, the breakfast area is tiny, completely unable to seat everyone, and the staff forcefully insisted we share tables!!!!!!!! The breakfast selection is limited, mostly vegetarian. The only meat option was shaomai. There were plenty of fruits, which was good, but they lacked flavor and weren't sweet. When I tried to discuss with the staff about taking some food back to the room, as there was no space, they refused. They forcefully moved other guests' food to one side of a table and told us, along with the other diners, that if we wanted to eat, we *had* to share a table. ????! This was extremely rude and aggressive, as if I owed them something. If they can't manage it properly, they shouldn't offer breakfast at all instead of making guests feel so unwelcome. Finally, usually booking in advance offers a better price, but with this hotel, I booked ahead only to find out on the day of check-in that the price for the same room had dropped by several tens of yuan. Excellent, just excellent (sarcastic).

On the first night, the bathroom door in my room wouldn't close. The Wi-Fi couldn't connect, showing 'no internet connection.' The shower door handle was broken, the duvet was lumpy from years of use, and the sheets and pillowcases were damp and smelly, probably not changed for days. The pillows also reeked. This is definitely not what you'd expect for a 479-a-night price. The second night, I got a different room, which was slightly better, but still didn't live up to its claims. The breakfast offered variety, but the quality was poor.
