Vienna 3 Best Hotel (Datong Ancient City Huayan Temple)

Upon entering the room, I noticed the hand towel was dirty, with red, blood-like stains. Initially, I just asked for it to be replaced. The next day, when I went to shower, I discovered the bath towel hanging on the bathroom door was also dirty (I hadn't noticed this on the first day as I didn't shower then). Having two dirty towels in one room is really unacceptable. Also, the breakfast area is tiny, completely unable to seat everyone, and the staff forcefully insisted we share tables!!!!!!!! The breakfast selection is limited, mostly vegetarian. The only meat option was shaomai. There were plenty of fruits, which was good, but they lacked flavor and weren't sweet. When I tried to discuss with the staff about taking some food back to the room, as there was no space, they refused. They forcefully moved other guests' food to one side of a table and told us, along with the other diners, that if we wanted to eat, we *had* to share a table. ????! This was extremely rude and aggressive, as if I owed them something. If they can't manage it properly, they shouldn't offer breakfast at all instead of making guests feel so unwelcome. Finally, usually booking in advance offers a better price, but with this hotel, I booked ahead only to find out on the day of check-in that the price for the same room had dropped by several tens of yuan. Excellent, just excellent (sarcastic).

On the first night, the bathroom door in my room wouldn't close. The Wi-Fi couldn't connect, showing 'no internet connection.' The shower door handle was broken, the duvet was lumpy from years of use, and the sheets and pillowcases were damp and smelly, probably not changed for days. The pillows also reeked. This is definitely not what you'd expect for a 479-a-night price. The second night, I got a different room, which was slightly better, but still didn't live up to its claims. The breakfast offered variety, but the quality was poor.

This hotel has very obvious pros and cons. The advantages are its good location and the staff's positive attitude. The downsides are the outdated facilities and the staff's inability to effectively resolve issues caused by these old facilities that negatively impact the guest experience. These include, but are not limited to: 1. The Wi-Fi signal was practically nonexistent; I couldn't connect at all during my two-day stay. 2. Breakfast had short hours, limited variety, and mediocre quality. Unlike the usual 8-10 AM slot, breakfast here only ran until 9 AM, and by 8:40 AM, they were already assumed not to be serving new guests and stopped refilling items. (The older gentleman who collected meal tickets and cooked noodles at the entrance was very kind; it would have been better if he hadn't put noodles that touched the table back into the bowl). 3. The room facilities were so old that the ceiling leaked, and plaster fell onto the entire sink area. I tolerated it the first day because it didn't hit anything else, but it kept falling on the second day. In the bathroom, whether it was shower water or water from the toilet, it dripped directly onto my toiletry bag with plaster bits, which was disgusting. However, I discovered it too late and had to rush for my train, so I didn't have time to communicate. When I contacted the hotel after getting off the train, the staff said they couldn't offer compensation after check-out but could provide an exclusive discount for a future stay. I told them I had no plans to revisit anytime soon, and the hotel responded that they would remain open until I decide to come back. 🙃

The service was very welcoming, and the location is excellent. It's just a 10-minute walk to Shanhua Temple and only a few minutes to the Drum Tower. The famous Garden Hotel is also nearby. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the cleanliness was good. My only minor complaint is that the front desk on the first floor requires you to climb a few steps to reach the elevator.

The room was spacious and bright, very clean and well-equipped. The surroundings were also very pleasant.

It's also very convenient for getting to all the attractions. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay on this trip!

The hotel is clean, and the facilities are decent. It's about a 10-minute walk or more to attractions like the Nine Dragon Screen, Huayan Temple, and the city gate. The only drawback is that you have to go up a flight of stairs from the lobby to the elevator, which is quite inconvenient. However, the front desk staff are happy to help with luggage to the elevator.
