Che Playa Hostel & Bar Adults Only

We slept in a suite, the room was full of mold and a strong smell of mold, not clean (I had a fingernail on the dresser next to the bed) there was a water break (not the hostel's fault) but they didn't announce it even though they realized there was a problem. The employees are nice, and the location is good, but we were really disappointed by the room, which was unpleasant to stay in. In addition, we were here on the weekend and the music from a party on the roof was really, really loud and continued until very late and disturbed our sleep, not suitable for those who suffer from noise. We will not return here.

My first hostel in Mexico and it was a great one! Perfect place to meet people and have a good time. Camila made the experience it wouldn’t have been the same without her! We had a great night making cocktails and playing drinking games! Thank you

Dirty, loud and dangerous. We paid for a private double room ($70USD) which is a lot of Playa Del Carmen hostel! The room was full of ants, dirty bedding and towels. The bathroom was full of mould. There was no light in the room, lights hanging out of fittings outside and water leaking from the ceiling. There wasn't a single drawer or dresser to put any bags/clothing. The decking and stairs to the room are falling apart and dangerously built (the stairs are super steep with no room for your feet) and my partner feel down them causing an injury. The reception staff were made aware of all these issues as was the manager who said 'we have been meaning to fix that' and then tried to upsell us to another room on the edge of town. The reception staff didn't seem to care at all. We ended up having to pay short notice to stay somewhere else for the rest of the stay for $180. Honestly the worst hostel experience I've ever had. The 'activities' were all posted half an hour before they started so unless you were in the hostel all day you couldn't do them. We also couldn't seem to get any info in advance. Unfortunately I can't add the video of the leaking water... AVOID!!!

This hostel exhibits horrendous business practices. I e-mailed two weeks prior to alter my booking and they did not fulfill my request. Upon my arrival they would not acknowledge my request. They price gouged me $80 USD for a 8 bed dorm for one night. I am disgusted that I chose this hostel out of every other option in Puerto Escondido. How a company could take advantage of a solo traveler is reprehensible. Also, the water dispenser does not work so there is no fresh water available. I was very excited about my trip to P. Escondido and this hostel has really brought everything down. I am just a high school teacher trying to relax on a budget for a few days.
