Hotel Indigo HONG KONG ISLAND by IHG

Traveling to Hong Kong for a business trip. We booked two rooms for two people for four nights. Overall, the rooms are quite spacious for Hong Kong standards. On the second day, the front desk began renovations and moved to the second floor, which also has a convenient restaurant where we could have breakfast.

The room exceeded my expectations. The hotel is very close to the subway station, and it's clean and spacious, not small like some online reviews mentioned. It would be even better if they could provide free power adapters for business travelers.

The room is relatively spacious, and the design is quite modern. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless. Being on a high floor and not facing a main road, it's very quiet, which is a rare find for those who struggle with sleep. The hotel is located in Wan Chai, so there's no need to elaborate on the dining options nearby.

The location is super convenient – the metro and all the necessary stops are nearby. The room itself is beautiful and stylish. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The view from the window is stunning. The only downside is the rather limited breakfast selection. Overall, my impression of the hotel is entirely positive!

The room was quite spacious, which is rare to find in Hong Kong. There are good restaurants nearby and it's not far from the MTR. However, I asked for extra pillows and was told they would be sent up immediately, but they never arrived all night. The second time I called, no one picked up.

For a Hong Kong hotel, the room size is quite generous! The transportation around is convenient, with Wedding Card Street right behind and close to the old district, which makes it a bit too down-to-earth. The value for money is decent, I guess. All Hong Kong hotels seem to have that musty smell, even the JW Marriott I stayed at before had it.

The hotel is about a five-minute walk from the MTR station, requiring a stroll through an alley full of markets. The lobby is quite small, but you can store your luggage if you arrive early. The facilities are a bit old, and the room was very damp, with the duvet feeling wet. The detailed cleaning was not up to par. The hotel claims to follow Hong Kong's plastic ban by not providing bottled water, but then again, the plastic ban also prohibits single-use toiletries, which the hotel still provides. So, not providing bottled water seems more like a cost-saving measure. I wouldn't recommend using the in-room filtered water dispenser. It's quite a step down compared to hotels in mainland China. The service was mediocre; they only delivered half of my requested items one night and forgot the rest.

Great location, very convenient for getting around. The rooftop pool was even more stunning. We were traveling as a family during the May Day holiday, and on our last day, it poured across Hong Kong with nowhere to go. We decided to try our luck on the rooftop, and surprisingly, the pool wasn't closed! We spent half the day there, which helped us pass the time.
