Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos

We recently stayed at the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas for a family trip in early August, and overall we had a fantastic experience. There are a few things I think are worth knowing before you book, especially if you are traveling with kids. First, be prepared for a little bit of a trek getting there. The resort is about an hour from the Los Cabos airport. The good news is that if you arrange transportation through the concierge, the process is seamless. They picked us up in a Suburban stocked with water and snacks, took care of all our luggage, and even had video games for the kids. If you book through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts, there are some significant benefits. Our transportation to and from the airport was included, along with daily breakfast, a $100 resort credit that could be used at the spa or other services, and a room upgrade when available. Given the prices at the resort, these benefits definitely add value. One thing to keep in mind if you are visiting in August: it is extremely hot. The sun is intense, and during the middle of the day you really feel it. We still had a great time, but if you are sensitive to heat or traveling with young children, plan your outdoor activities accordingly, use plenty of sunscreen, and take advantage of the pools and shaded areas during the hottest part of the day. The Property The property is huge — I believe Costa Palmas is around 300 acres in total — but the Four Seasons itself is surprisingly walkable. Pretty much everywhere we needed to go was easily accessible on foot. The hotel also provides complimentary bicycles, which are especially popular with the kids. This is actually one area where I think the resort could improve. Bikes tend to get left randomly along the pathways, making an otherwise beautiful property look a little cluttered. Adding more bike racks outside the suites and around popular areas such as the pools and restaurants would be a simple improvement. Restaurants and Food The resort has several restaurants with a great selection of food for different tastes. We really enjoyed taking the water taxi to Mozza for a casual, family-style Italian dinner, but our favorite restaurant by far was Limón, which is literally nestled within the resort’s lemon grove. The setting is beautiful and made for a memorable dinner. Other honorable mentions include the excellent breakfast buffet, which was included with our Fine Hotels + Resorts reservation, and the food served at the beach and pools. They had some of the best octopus tostadas and margaritas we have ever had. That said, food is expensive — especially by Mexican standards. Prices rival what you would expect at restaurants in some of the world’s most expensive cities. You should budget accordingly. It is also important to understand just how secluded Costa Palmas is. We chose Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas for my birthday, and it turned into one of the most memorable family trips we’ve taken. It was trip my family will never forget. If you’re looking for the lively Cabo party scene, this isn’t it and that’s exactly why we loved it. The East Cape is a location that offers a completely different experience. It was so quiet, peaceful, and we truly got to take in the beauty of nature. It was the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and be present as a family. I loved the Spa. I heard it was voted one of the top 100 spas in the world by Vogue. I’ve visited many luxury resorts around the world, and this was easily one of the best spa experiences I got to experience with my husband. The cold plunge was everything and we left feeling so rejuvenated. The dining was another highlight. Each meal felt like an experience of its own, especially the boat ride to Mozza, which made dinner even more memorable. Discovering the hidden speakeasy Chiki was such a fun surprise to discover. As a luxury event planner, I also had the opportunity to tour the new Casa Encantada event venue. It is absolutely stunning, with beautiful open-air spaces, breathtaking mountain views, and architecture that complements the beauty of Baja. I can already envision unforgettable weddings, celebrations, and corporate retreats taking place there. What impressed me most wasn’t just the beautiful accommodations or exceptional amenities, it was the feeling of being genuinely cared for. Because they know it was our birthdays, the minute we arrived an in room birthday amenity was waiting for us. The service was warm, attentive, and gracious without ever feeling intrusive. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, reconnect with family, simply escape the pace of everyday life or celebrate a milestone, Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas delivers an experience that is both luxurious and deeply relaxing. I had to request for my room to be serviced 2 separate days. First day I waited until 5 PM to call for service and second day I requested morning service and it wasn’t completed until 2 PM

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Four Seasons. Pick up and drop off was secured through the Concierge and worked beautifully. I’d highly recommend booking through them knowing that this is taken care of. The property is about a 50 minute drive up to the East Cape. We booked a ATV waterfall hike through the Concierge with the adventure team. Normally I would book a water activity such as whale watching and so this trip was really different and we absolutely had a blast. "Hussey" his nick name was our private guide and arrived with our two seater ATV. My daughter had an absolute blast driving to the waterfall. He took care of absolutely everything brought towel towels, snacks, and really took great care of us in the absolute best Four Seasons Way. The driving age limit was 16. We saw wild donkeys, horses, and cows. The waterfall was absolutely spectacular and we hiked up to the pools above. Swimming here was really worth it, even though it was a little cold to begin with. This was such an outstanding tour they provide helmets and goggles. Just book it you wont make a mistake! We really enjoyed going to the spa, caught the water taxi over for coffee in the morning, which was really a fun experience. We love the fitness center and enjoyed drinks at Limon. The resort was not overly full and we loved our plunge pool room. We actually had dinner through room service one night, which I couldn’t recommend any more. Everything was delivered hot and crispy. Very much recommend this resort it felt very much like Punta Mita and is going to be developed into that I would say in the next 15 years. We loved having the use of the bicycles that were delivered from the front desk for our stay. Service and the friendliness of the staff was highly recommended. This Property totally lived up to the expectations of the four seasons in every way.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The whole place was beautiful, I especially loved my room and the landscaping. The spa facilities and the pool were so nice; the food was good; and the ocean was calm and easy to swim in. The gym was well appointed and tennis courts were available. In fact, the place had a private feel, nothing felt overcrowded or scarce. The staff could not have been nicer- they accommodated all our needs. They even had it noted that we were non drinkers, and pointed out the mocktails on the menu. What a nice place.

New Four Seasons at Costa Palmas is a true gem for people looking for total relaxation, beautiful nature and long walks on prestige white sand beach. It is located on the shores of beautiful Sea of Cortez, away from busy Cabo. Service and food is exceptional! Perfect for romantic holiday and family vacation. Highly recommend restaurant Limon. It is incredible! Also if you wish to change a hairstyle or just experience world class cut - visit David at hair salon. He is an exceptional hairstylist, true master. What a surprise to have the best haircut in my life on beach vacation in remote Mexico!

The food! Executive Chef Paolo and his executive sous Chef Gonzalo are phenomenal. Chef Paolo met us upon arrival and took down every like and preference of each of our guests, along with our dietary restrictions, likes, and dislikes. Each meal and snack was a homerun, even for our most picky of eaters. Truly too much to write about. We tried rating each dish and meal afterward using a bracket system. Suffice it to say, each dish was a 10 out of 10. For our last meal, we asked for a surprise chef's tasting menu at Limon. This is not your average Four Seasons. It was an exceptional experience through and through. Expect us back 100%
