Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian

This hotel boasts a unique historical charm that sets it apart from others, offering a distinct sense of luxury. If you're looking for a trendy infinity pool, exaggerated high-rise night views, and a hotel that's all about being Instagrammable, then I'd say this isn't the place for you. While the rooms show the passage of time, they are impeccably clean. The service rivals that of Fairmont. My stay was a perfect 10.

This was an absolutely superb experience with incredibly attentive service. Our butler was proactive and thoughtful, reaching out three days in advance and responding quickly to all our needs. The turndown service was exquisite, showcasing French elegance and historical charm in every detail. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a mousse cake and fresh fruit. The staff were all polite and considerate, and I particularly want to commend butler Jack, Themis, and concierge Morty Eva for their outstanding service! This hotel truly sets the standard for high-end accommodation in Xi'an and comes highly recommended.

I'd heard great things about this hotel for a while, and even though it was a bit far from where I needed to be, I still chose to stay at the Legend. It lived up to expectations and was definitely worth the price. 'Historic, elegant, and high-quality' – that pretty much sums up my overall impression. Upon check-in, they upgraded my room, which was a very thoughtful gesture. The facilities are incredibly well-maintained, indicating excellent materials, meticulous management, and careful upkeep. The off-white seating in the public areas was spotless, instantly reassuring me about the hotel's hygiene. The courtyard was smaller than I imagined, but the greenery and layout were very pleasant, especially the centuries-old trees that seemed to stand guard, inspiring a sense of reverence. The guest room was comfortably and tastefully appointed, with multiple small, opening windows – a refreshing change from the large, fashionable windows often found today – offering a more residential feel and excellent privacy for different functional areas. The breakfast was exceptional, with both a buffet and à la carte options. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and it was absolutely delicious! When I returned to the hotel around noon after my errands, they kindly extended my check-out until 2 PM. The service was delightful; they diligently helped me with my luggage both upon arrival and departure, making me feel right at home. The hotel's public areas are beautiful, and the rooms are elegant and luxurious. The happy hour spot was also lovely. Hotel staff members Andi, Leo, and Derek were incredibly helpful.

I came to Xi'an for a concert and happened to see this hotel's photos were stunning, so I booked it. It truly lives up to its reputation as a classic hotel established in 1953, arguably Xi'an's oldest high-end hotel, exuding an incredible sense of heritage and atmosphere. The overall decor is grand and elegant, with a vintage-chic style that feels incredibly luxurious. Every detail showcases its sophisticated taste, making it perfect for photos. The staff were attentive and thoughtful throughout, with gentle and enthusiastic attitudes, responding promptly and comprehensively. My check-in experience was excellent. The location is superb, making it very convenient for getting around and exploring. It's ideal for both travel and leisure, and most importantly, it's incredibly quiet! I genuinely recommend it!

This hotel is said to be the only one of its kind in Xi'an, and one of only two in Asia. I decided to give it a try for one night, and overall, I had a good experience. First, the environment: it's located in the former People's Mansion, within its own large courtyard, providing a quiet retreat from the bustling city. There's even a fountain downstairs. The hotel's designer is Chinese, but it boasts a French style. It was originally built during the Soviet aid era to host Soviet experts, so it likely incorporates elements from Chinese, French, and Russian cultures. About 90% of the guests are foreigners, possibly French, though I couldn't really tell. The room decor is quite elegant, not modern. The facilities and amenities are good, but some furniture and the floor show obvious signs of wear. The staff are all young and provide excellent, smiling service. Breakfast was just so-so; it seems more geared towards foreigners. For Chinese guests, the variety is quite limited, and it pales in comparison to the breakfasts at InterContinental, Four Seasons, and especially the Ritz-Carlton. But then again, each hotel has its own unique characteristics. All in all, it's a hotel worth staying at!

The room was spacious, and the concierge service was attentive and enthusiastic, providing excellent explanations. The breakfast was a good mix of Western and Chinese options, satisfying both the elderly and children. 👍 The location is also convenient, within walking distance to the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Muslim Quarter. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xi'an. (For those who appreciate good spirits, don't forget to check out the limited edition Louis XIII!)

Great location, quiet yet central, and convenient parking. The staff were proactive and friendly, and they even upgraded my room. Booking through Ctrip made it a fantastic deal. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, semi-à la carte, and the Roujiamo and Eggs Benedict, which were recommended by other travelers, were both delicious.
