Looking for a place that wasn't overrun with tourists, we found this hotel via TripAdvisor reviews. We had never been to a Belmond hotel previously, so it's a new chain for us. This hotel did not disappoint. It was more like a private club with a small lobby and staff who recognize you every time you pass through the lobby. It's a private, elegant option in a city full of big hotels. Our room was a one-bedroom suite, upgraded with an Amex Platinum booking. The sheets were incredible and the bed super comfortable. We loved the large bathroom with a big tub, high-end plumbing fixtures, heated floors, and a heated towel rack in the room. A nice-size closet and easy-to-figure-out lighting controls. The cleaning staff was stealthy and super clean! We'd put on the clean room button, and voila the room was cleaned. I never saw a single cleaning person on the property. Excellent bathroom amenities, from toothbrushes to a Dyson hairdryer with a curly hair attachment (thank you, Cadogan, from all the curly girls out there). It was like staying in a private manor in the middle of London. The location was fantastic for walking-it's a big city, so not able to walk everywhere, but had a good amount of things we could walk to, putting on about 5-7 miles per day. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
